The fantasy universe will return after CDPR has completed their sci-fi epic.
This year we will get the next blockbuster title from polish publisher/developer CD Projekt RED with Cyberpunk 2077. The hardcore sci-fi game is sure to be something else, but the company came to prominence thinks to fantasy, specifically their adaptations of The Witcher novel series. Well, they haven’t forgotten what brought them to the game.
As confirmed to Eurogamer Poland by CDPR’s Adam Kiciński after Cyberpunk 2077 launches they will immediately begin working on the fourth mainline Witcher title. He gives no details about it outside that it will be single player-focused and seemingly the team has had a concept in mind for the title for a good while.
It comes as little surprise as the profile of the franchise has been raised immensely since the Netflix adaptation proved to be a huge hit. It was only a matter pf time before we revisited that world. But considering they won’t start development until Cyberpunk is out, which won’t be until this September (as long as there’s no more delays). So, it’s going to be a long wait, friends.
