Gunn is writing the series and directing several of the episodes, with John Cena reprising his Squad role of Peacemaker, a DC character named Christopher Smith. Smith is a man who “believes in peace at any cost — no matter how many people he has to kill to get it,” according to HBO Max’s description.
The adventure-comedy series will shoot in Vancouver in January with Gunn and Peter Safran exec producing.
Danielle Brooks, Robert Patrick, Jennifer Holland and Chris Conrad are already on the call sheet.
