Zynga and Lucasfilm Games’ offered a teaser trailer for competitive arena combat game Star Wars: Hunters, releasing later this year, while the motion controlled story-driven sports game Mario Golf Super Rush was also shown, combining familiar golf play with multiplayer modes. It releases June 25.
Among other news, a reveal trailer for the newest fighter in Smash Brothers Ultimate was shown, which releases in March. Animal Crossing will get a free Super Mario 35th anniversary-themed update on Feb. 25, where items like the super mushroom and the question block can be ordered in-game as furniture items. Pipes can also be used to travel between locations on islands.
Fall Guys Ultimate Knockout will drop on Switch in the summer, while Splatoon 3 will release in 2022.
Eiji Aonuma, producer of The Legend of Zelda series, said in the presentation, “I’m sure a lot of you saw me and thought there might be news about the sequel to The Legend of Zelda:B reath of the Wild game. Unfortunately, we don’t have anything to share right now. We apologize. Development is proceeding smoothly and we should be able to bring you some new information this year.”
He did, however, introduce The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword HD, which originally released in 2011 on the Wii console and will come out soon on the Switch. Also, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity’s expansion pass pre-orders will become available in the Nintendo eShop on Wednesday.
Hades is getting a physical release on Switch with extras including a PC download code for the original soundtrack and a 32 page full-color character compendium featuring portraits of the game’s cast.
Electronic Arts announced that Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville will drop on Switch on March 19.
