Fonda’s film credits include Youth, Klute, Coming Home, The China Syndrome, Nine to Five, Rollover, On Golden Pond, The Morning After and The Dollmaker. Most recently, she stars in Grace and Frankie, produced by Skydance Television.
News of Fonda boarding Luck follows Apple striking an overall deal with Skydance Animation that includes Apple Original Films debuting the animated movies Luck and Spellbound, alongside a two season order for The Search for WondLa series.
Directed by Peggy Holmes, Luck centers around the unluckiest girl in the world, who after stumbling upon the never-before-seen world of good and bad luck, must join together with magical creatures to uncover a force more powerful than even luck itself. John Lasseter, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and David Eisenmann are producing for Skydance Animation.
It’s understood Fonda will not replace Emma Thompson, who left the Skydance animated movie project over concerns about working with Lasseter, who joined David Ellison’s animation unit in 2019 after leaving Pixar and Disney Animation amid claims of misconduct.
Fonda is represented by CAA and Untitled.
