Ace TV reporter Sweet Polly Purebred is a female dog which is the secret object of Shoeshine/Underdog affection, and it was usually her cry of "Oh where, oh where has my Underdog gone?" that prompted the humble and loveable Shoeshine Boy to slip into a nearby phone booth, and emerge as Underdog. She is voiced by Norma MacMillan. In the movie, she is voiced by Amy Adams.
