Summary
Skaar is a superhero published by Marvel Comics. He first appears in World War Hulk #5 (November 2007), and was created by Greg Pak and John Romita Jr.
Publication history
Skaar is the son of the Hulk and the Shadow Warrior Caiera, conceived during the Planet Hulk storyline. The character will star in his own ongoing series, Skaar: Son of Hulk, released in June 2008. Character biography
Skaar first appeared in World War Hulk #5 (November 2007) emerging from the lava pits of Planet Sakaar.As seen in World War Hulk #5 From an interview it is said the only things he knows is that the planet was left in shambles and that his father left him in the lava pits. There are no current plans to have Skaar and Hulk have a family reunion but Greg Pak hinted at the possibility during an interview with IGN.
Skaar is the progeny of a Gamma powered Mutate and one of the Oldstrong Shadow People. As seen in the first issue, the blast that killed Caiera turned her into dust in the Hulk's arms. After Caiera death a cocoon containing Skaar fell into the lake of fire. After a period of time had passed, Skaar emerged from the cocoon, at the time he appeared to be the equivalent human preteen. A year later and he appears to have grown into a teenager.As seen in Skaar, Son of Hulk #1
Powers and abilities
- Skaar demonstrated limited superhuman strength soon after birth.
- Later on he shows that he can draw power from the planet and harden his body similar to his mother Caiera.
Other versions
What If?
In the What If? storyline What if Caiera the Oldstrong had survived the destruction of Sakaar instead of the Hulk?, a 21-year-old version of Skaar appeared near the end, partialy seen and obscured by shadows.
