Late December 1777: a meteorite struck the ground outside Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. General George Washington and his Continental Army investigated. What they found was unlike anything they had seen before. Washington described it in his journal as “a man with orange skin wearing a one-eyed helmet and patches of armor covering various parts of his body.” The alien appeared dead and so General Washington ordered his men to bury it. (This was the first appearance of Grom Polyphemus better known as Cyclotron)
1887: Corey Specter, Texas Ranger, trailed a gang of horse thieves into a canyon where they were holed up. It was an ambush and the Ranger was shot and killed. He was then approached by the Reaper and offered a living death where he could serve the greater good by acting as a bounty hunter for the damned. Specter agreed and was resurrected as the ghostly gunslinger Wraith. His first act was to track down the horse thieves who killed him and murder each one in turn.
1892: Grom Polyphemus awakens in a rage and kills several people in a small town before being confronted by Wraith. The alien cyborg and the ghost duke it out destroying have the town before Wraith’s ghostly powers win out. Grom Polyphemus hides in a cave and reenters his hibernation repair cycle where his body goes dormant. Later that year Wraith rescues a man named Jericho Lazarus from a lynch mob and Lazarus pledges his life to help Wraith in his quest.
1902: Jericho Lazarus is killed by the Gunslinger Demon in Shadow Falls. Wraith battles the demon and saves the rest of the town from meeting the same fate as his friend. The townsfolk rename their home Jericho Falls in honor of Lazarus’ sacrifice to save them. Wraith rides off into the sunset and is not heard from again for some time.
1935: Lord Gilgamesh, Supremeson, the Fifth King of Uruk, mutates several humans turning them into beastly creatures and letting them loose to wreck havoc near Fort Benning, Georgia. Army Captain Cole Turner and his new recruits managed to battle the threat culminating in a standoff near the Capitol building in Atlanta. Cole Turner, using a flying machine built by Albert Einstein, stops the assassin Ripperjack and forces Gilgamesh and his friend Enkidu to flee. Area 51 is created to clean up the mess.
1938: The National Time-travel Foundation and Albert Einstein set up an experiment in the ocean between Florida and Bermuda where they use Captain Cole Turner as a test pilot for their ferromagnetic time-vessel. When the vessel launches it explodes magnetizing the entire area resulting in the phenomenon known as the Bermuda/Devils Triangle. Cole Turner is presumed dead but his body is never recovered.
1947: A UFO crashes outside of Roswell, New Mexico carrying a refugee from the planet Vektoria. Remus Vel’Kar’s crash leaves him in a coma and he is whisked away by government agents to Groom Lake, Nevada home of Area 51.
1986: The Fifth King of Uruk returns with an army of Ripperjacks and the Wildman Enkidu by his side. They strike at Washington, D.C. directly and nearly overrun the White House. Area 51 enlists the recently awakened alien Vel’Kar to help fend off the attack. The Vektorian taking on the codename Vortex tackles this threat with his temporal distortion powers. Wraith also makes his first appearance since the death of his friend Jericho by joining the fight against Gilgamesh. The two super powered beings thwart this new invasion sending Uruk’s forces back to the stars from whence they came.
1991: Tabitha Renee Landon discovered Dr. Jackal’s formula when she was a teenager and found notes from her ancestor Mr. Harold Landon who chronicled the events of Jackal’s transformations into the vile Edwin Hydra. She held onto these through her college years at Prima Medical Institute in Las Vegas and was recruited by the government for a top secret experiment codenamed Project Blackout.
1995: Private First Class Caroline Dark went on a mission into the Brazilian Jungle to confront the Foreign Liberation Activist Group. She was killed by FLAG’s leader Mohan D’Jinko and never returned home to her husband Jonathon Dark or their 8 year old son John.
1998: Tabitha Landon completed and tested the Blackout Drug on two subjects in a high tech facility at Area 51. Jade Jitzu and James Edwards both showed signs of supernatural abilities. The drug, which consisted of 1 part Dr. Jackal’s formula and 2 parts Vektorian blood, caused psychosomatic symptoms in Jade Jitzu sending her into a paranoid frenzy in which she managed to escape from Area 51. James however showed no such signs and she decided to do one final test on herself. Tabitha and James both gained superpowers and took on the costumed identities of Luminary and Voltage. Area 51 decides to team them with Vortex and create the black ops group CORE. Their first mission, to retrieve Jade Jitzu, is a success as the delusional Jitzu is placed in stasis within the Groom Lake facility.
2005: Ethan McKnight inherits a castle in northern England named Carrion as well as the title of Count. Deep within the castle he discovers a vault that houses relics from ages past. Weapons and books chronicling the history of the Knights Templar infatuate him. His ancestors were Templar’s and he has been chosen as their successor. Taking up the mantle of The Rook he becomes the United Kingdom’s unseen defender.
2008: Gary Jones becomes War Angel after overdosing on drugs and being given a second chance by Uriel, the Angel of Death. Luther Vanguard finds an enchanted shield and becomes the patriotic defender Crimson Shield.
2009: A VOID drone is detected by Area 51 as it spies on Earth sending information back to its makers. Using a weaponized satellite they manage to shoot it down and study it. Elsewhere in St. Katherine’s Bay police chief Jonathon Dark Sr is murdered prompting his 22 year old son to seek out specialized training and to become the vigilante protector Shadow Hawk. This is also the year Captain Midnight arrives on the scene in Wayward City with plans of preventing the end of the world.
February 2010: Giant robots invade Earth. Captain Midnight rounds up most of the superhero population to combat the threat. They succeed in stopping the invasion but a few heroes perish, most notably War Angel, Wraith, and Crimson Shield.
2010: The Rook takes on a sidekick named Blackbird after rescuing the girl from would-be muggers and rapists. Ashley Nicole Alvarez pledges her life to the Rook’s cause and learns the ways of the Knights Templar. Raptor joins Shadow Hawk in his war on crime in St Katherine’s Bay; the two marry and have a daughter named Jessica. Shadow Hawk is drafted by the government to help rescue Red Cross relief workers in the Brazilian jungle where he comes face to face with the man who murdered his mother and exacts revenge by killing the FLAG leader Mohan D’Jinko. The small Middle-Eastern nation of Molinaro creates the ultimate nuclear weapon, a mercenary codenamed Bombshell, and unleashes her on America.
2011: Seraph arises like a phoenix from the ashes of War Angel’s demise. Resurrected by Uriel, he takes the new name of Gabriel Boreas and is sanctioned to act as the Guardian Angel in an effort to halt a demonic invasion by preventing them from crossing over through the gateway at Jericho Falls. Sentor arrives on Earth and confronts a newly awakened Grom Polyphemus (Cyclotron) in an epic battle that levels the city of Jayson. Captain Midnight and CORE intervene subduing both extraterrestrials. The vampyre hunter Brimstone confronts Clash for the first time preventing the vampyre lord from acquiring the fabled Black Staff said to make vampyres immune to sunlight and garlic rendering them nearly unstoppable. Mr. Bigg forms the Conglomerate from some of the criminal underworld’s most effective syndicate leaders in an effort to take total control of the United States Easter Seaboard.
3155: Cole Turner arrives in the future to find the Earth under the control of Kronoan Lizardmen and their giant VOID Robots. Here he meets an entity known as Myd Nie Tur who gives him a pair of Bracers which grant Cole the power to fight off the alien threat. With his dying breath Myd Nie Tur utters the words to open a time-portal allowing Cole Turner to return to the past of 2009 to prevent this future from becoming a reality.
