History:
Iron Man, Ant-Man, Thor, and Wasp were
drawn together by chance when the Asgardian trickster Loki
attempted to set the Hulk on a collision course with his
heroic foster brother Thor. Hulk's sidekick, Rick Jones, sent
out a distress call that was answered by the soon to be called
Avengers. Together they tracked down Hulk and uncovered Loki's
plot. Thus that day they became known to the world as the
Avengers.
The Avengers
would undergo many member changes over the years, and they
would acquire their most prominent member Captain America in
Avengers #4 . Captain
America is found in a block of ice having missed 20 years of
history.
