I think they maybe they hope their liberal buddies will think of them as heroes or something. I guess they need to ask are we here to sell comics or get awards from political activists. But you are right they can't take a new gay character and make them iconic or as popular as the old heroes that have been around for years and years. I've got art.com's legal department looking into it since I'm affiliated with their program. There are all kinds of stories on the net about Getty I've found. It really seems like their main goal is to scare people into paying them. They figure if they send out enough threats somebody will just pay up without asking questions.
