Chapter 33; Void

Drake: Boom you're dead.
Summer takes her split second to perform a heroic act; she stands up with Ohm and turns to him. 'I'm sorry it didn't work out.' She grabs Mike's arm and throws him out into the street. She turns and begins to light up her body 'What are you doing?!' Drake yells as he steps back and begins to burn. 'Flare!' She yells and a bright blast of light shines throughout the street and base. Mike takes the opportunity to run and hide in a nearby alleyway. Drake grabs a piece of debris to shield him from the burning light and slams Summer over the head with it, the light instantly fades, and Drake picks up Summer. Mike is struggling on what he should do when he hears a sickening crack--Summer lost.
Mike: This isn't happening...
Drake: Oh--but it is. (Spinning around Mike sees Drake leaning against the wall) Haha, well I'd give your fiery friend a few points for trying to burn me up, too bad she won't be able to spend them.
Mike: Murderer! (He charges Drake)

Reality
Will: I think I found a place where we can charge up Ohm.
Stan: You better hurry; we only have 6 hours left.
Will: Well it's not going to be legal--I "accidentally" hacked into the government mainframe and was looking up energy output devices. I came across a classified file called “Project Zeus”--
Stan: (Shifting his weight) --the God of Thunder?
Will: Exactly, it seems they were experimenting with the technology from the Alien Day last year... my god... they're experimenting with making more Lectrohms?
Stan: I was worried that scenario might happen. Have they had any success?
Will: (Sighing) Luckily none whatsoever, Mike's psychological profile must have been unique therefore the process is proving difficult to reproduce... but... it seems they were able to concentrate a huge amount of pure electrical and light energy into a single element which they dubbed "Fusion Glass". This orb is capable of generating electricity as long as it is moving anywhere through space. If we can get that to Mike, it's almost certain that he will be able to recharge.
Stan: Where is it?
Will: ... San Francisco.

Drake simply moves to the side and grabs Mike tossing him out into the street. He gets up only to be smacked straight up in the air, then hammer fisted back down. Drake picks up the fallen hero and begins to laugh as dark matter clouds crack crimson lightning against the malevolent sky. His fingers begin to extend into spiked tentacles and he wraps Ohm's arms together. He flings him down on the side of the building cutting a hole right through it.
Drake: I could dance like this all night Ohm, but you see, I really like a challenge. So I'm going to lend you a little electricity to feed off of. Then you get a 5 minute head start. Simple enough?
Mike: ...w--why?
Drake: I like to play with my prey before they die. With that, he flings him across the street into a nearby sign it sparks and gives Ohm that little juice he needed. He drops down and super speeds across the city to Stan's house, maybe there's something there that he can use. He arrives at the house, but there's nothing left, it's been demolished--even the underground training rooms.

Reality
Stan: ...yes. Can you do it?
Ron: Breaking into a government facility testing electrical equipment and knocking back anyone who gets in my way... whew. Meet me up top of a nearby Factory in Fisherman's Warf, Jimmy will be waiting.
Stan: We will be there within 4 hours.
Stan and Will load Mike into Stan's private jet and tell the pilot to head to San Francisco. The Pilot nods and they take of into the sky.

Disheartened, he drops to one knee, nothing has gone right, his friends are dead, he can't find anyone on the streets except for an occasional bum, and his mission to save the city--the world has blown up in his face.
Eddie: Stings, doesn't it? (Materializing out of the shadow on the ground behind Mike)
Mike: Just go away.
Eddie: Uh... hahaha, alright you convinced me. I'll give up being the most powerful being in existence so you can mourn. Pathetic.
Mike: (Beginning to surge with energy) I said, go-the hell-away.
Eddie: (Smirking) No.
Eddie's smile begins to fade as he looks down, thin strings of energy flow to Mike. He stands up and the strings thicken and begin to whip like electricity. 'Where are you getting this power?!' Eddie yells as he transforms back into Drake. 'Where?!' he repeats, then after a pause he throws a punch at Mike only to hit an invisible field. The force of the impact knocks Drake back onto the street, Ohm looks curiously trying to figure out what caused the field but at the same time focuses on gathering as much energy as he can from the Earth itself.
Drake: (Standing up) You'll pay for this!
Mike: No Eddie, (He turns around) YOU will pay!
