I'm working on a new hero, and I've got the general idea of his character in my mind, but I'm having a hard time figuring out which way to go on the costume. He needs to be sort of a mix between Superman and Batman in that he's a dark character, but promotes the American way.
The name is Justice.
Here's some rough pics. First ones have a hood. Of course I could change the hood to a different color if necessary.
with a bandit kind of mask
So which one is on the best track? Any ideas on making a more snazzy costume?

Maybe he can be a ex-Swat and can carry a police-like utility belt filled with mace and etc. He can also wear a bullet-proof armor.
Maybe Dark Justice would be a more fitting name.
I like the one with the hood...A executioner hood would strike fear to villains who are superstitous and cowardly lot.

what are his powers?
LOL, I love fish boy's name, Dark Justice?
He goes around this the symbol "DJ" on his chest, Music superhero! lol
ok, sorry. seriously, what exactly are his powers? that'll helps with the name and outfit. I usually start off with the hero's npowers then branch off from there.

Well he's kind of like the Spectre only not that powerful. Sort of a ghost who puts fear in the hearts of criminals like the Batman. The difference is he believes himself to be the impersonification of justice. So in short he appears and disappears at will and has supernatural strength and ghostly like powers. Great hand to hand fighting skills. Power to fly that kind of thing.

If I think of more I'll let you know, just a few off the top of my heads, phasma phasmatis is ghost in Latin, maybe that'll help.

i'd try taking away the blue leg stripes for a darker look, and maybe tone down the boots a bui too. ogh, and there may be some problems with the name justice do to legal issues, i'll look it up on wikipedia and see if it's taken.

Well I slept on it, and I kind of liked Dark Justice, but this morning I looked it up and there was a TV show of that name in the 90's. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_Justice
Now I'm not completely sure if that means the name is off the table since it's two common words in the english language.
I'm going to let these other names roll around in my head for a while you all have given.
I couldn't sleep last night. I kept thinking about the origin, and this is what I came up with. I figure he could be a police detective whose family is murdered, and he get's the blame. He gets sentenced to prison, but somewhere along the way is attacked and dies for 5 minutes. During that time he goes to heaven, and comes back with ghost like powers and a great desire to punish evil doers to bring justice to his family's killers, and to clear his own name. Of course along the way he can fight super powered bad guys, etc. Thing is even though his powers come from heaven he's a very angry guy as anybody would be in that kind of scenario so he could really give the bad guys a hard time kind of like Ghost Rider with that stare of his only a little more elaborate. I'm thinking this could be just the polar opposite of Spawn.
I also considered another name, how about Dark Light?

the white ones look very close to Moon Knights' number of costumes. I'd stick with the first one.
Maybe... Twilight? for a name?

Tell me about it, I have 3 more elemental superheros coming in on my story for the 4th season (Of which I'm 4 chapters done). And they're not exactly Earth grown if you know what I mean. 
lil sneak peak on 4th season there. I want to get back so I can finish the sketches for the 3rd season. I'm itching to start posting it.

You guys should become real life superheroes That is the only real way to make a difference! It's tough finding good names and costumes. Who knows how many heroes our out there now.
