Chapter 1- The Coming

Gabriel Saints climbs the abandoned stairway. He slumps over to his room 212, Gab fumbles with the keys and finally manges to open the door. The room isn't much...Its a small room which doesn't allow much movement. Gabe sets down his luggage on the floor and feels around for the lightbulb. As he pulls down the bulb's cord, thousands of cockroaches scatter from the bright light and head into one one of many, dark damp shadows that cover the room. Gabe sighs as he takes off his coat and falls back onto the miniature bed, who's springs have long died out. "Bugs...I hate bugs..." Gabriel mumbles to himself as he removes his leather shoes. The room isn't much but what do expect to buy with cop's pay? But it's home and he does have an amazing veiw of the city. Sometimes when their's a full moon...he realizes why he fell in love with Chicago...

Gabriel begins to unpack, he folds his cloth in a neat little square and sets them down in a pile which is categorized by color and seize. His almost done when he finds a small black domino mask which was lying in the bottom of the suitcase. Gabe lays it on the bed and looks at for a good while and then he finally speaks "Lets just hope for both our sakes, I don't have to use you again..." Gabe hides the small mask ontop of his fan and tries to go to sleep...but to no avail, the piercing shrills of a speeding cop car wakes Gabe "Gotta love Chicago...Not one dull moment." Gabe jumps to his feet and quickly grabs his trench coat and his mask and climbs down the fire escape.

At the otherside of the city. A furious man slams his hand onto his fine oak desk. "Dat's wat Marty?! Da second truck full o' Eel Juice we lost ta dat Street Angel? Ya know how much diss gum-shoe's costin' me?!"
"Uh y-y-yes Mr. Capone..."
"Ya do?! Den why ain't ya doin' anythin' bout it?! I swear ta God Marty...When I find diss lil' prick I'm gonna teach him new kinds o' pain!"
"Aaaaal! I'm bored." A young woman who was sitting on the desk finally speaks out.
"Not now Molly!" He turns to her with his index finger rised and a blood vein on his forehead which seems to get bigger by the second.
"Humph!" Molly cries out as a child would when refused attention.

Molly o' Dare, a lovely young woman who's short brown hair and even shorter skirt make all the men wild. She's known around the city to be one of many of Al Capone's moll as well as one of the craziest flapper in any side of Chicago. The man in suspenders, wearing thick red glasses and who's trying so hard not to pee his pants is Marty Harrison, Capone's personal lawyer. Right now he wishes he listened to his mother and becamed a doctor...

"I don't care how much it cost Marty! Juss get it done...You know wat da Purple Gang's gonna do when dey find out how weak I look right now. ME! Weak! Isn't dat a tickle ta yer funnybone?!"

"Y-yes m-mr. Capone I-i mean no Mr. Capone...right away sir!..."
"No need for dat Allie, heres da answer ta all yer problems." a golden man pushes the door and walks into the middle, followed by two men in black overcoats, they form a perfect V shaped phanlax.

The golden statue, dress an a expensive custom pinstripe suit, a red collar shirt and a black tie. Al pours two glasses of dark brandy and hands one to the golden man. "Lil' far from home ain'tcha Gio?"
He waves his hands around as he speaks "I belive home is where yer friends n' da Family's at Al...and dats wat we are, friends. Right?" he smirks as he chugs the brandy dry. The golden man is non other then Giovanni Testarossa, the made man of New York City. But after his run-in with the Street Angel and a gaint vat filled with melted gold, left him with almost unbreakable skin and super-strength. The guys in the streets soon dubbed him 'Goldface' Testarossa.

"So its true wat happened ta yoose in New York eh Gio? And yoose plannin' on a lil vengence eh?"
"Da first part's true Al, not so much on da second tho...Its not personal its just business."
"Dat so? And why should I trust you Gio, ya didn't really succeed da first time round."
"Second time's da charm Al."
"I'm guessin' ya want sum greenbacks as well...how bout 3 grand? No? Then its a favor ya'll like?"
"Yes, I like it here Al and I want to set-up a lil' front here...A few speakeasy's here and dere...You'll get 10 percent."
"20."
"5."

Al rubs his forehead and mumbles something about Gio's mother "Fine, 10 percent. But I want dat Street Angel dead first."

"I assure you Al, da Street Angel's gonna have ta change his name ta da 'Fallen' angel if ya gets my drift..." Giovanni smirks as he rises his glass in the air.

Giovanni and his three lackeys walk back to his fancy limo and drive over to East Delware near Lake Michigan. He barks at the his small gang who were busy playing poker. "Get up! Get up! Come on ya palookas! We got a do-gooder ta kill!"
"Hows we gonna do dat boss? We don't even know where he is or even he is in da city!" Jimmey the Vulture remarks
"Den...We cause so much death and mayham he has no choice but to come ta us." Giovanni says with almost no hints of emotion in his voice...he means everyword...

Chapter 2- Told You I Was Trouble

The following day isn't any better...A cold front came in from the north causing the Windy City to be battered by harsh stinging wind. Gabriel returns to his job, behind a desk with a huge pile of paperwork. "Should've stayed in New York..." he mumbles with a sour look on his face as he sharpens his pencil.

A tall man with a thick moustache, dressed in a blue button-down collar shirt with a gun holster which seems to swing as he walks up to Gabe, his shirt is covered in wrinkles and coffee stains and ironically only his hair seems to be combed neatly. He's Captain Harvey Frost, a living legend to the Force. His taken so many shots the Times nicknamed him 'Bullets' Frost. The man next to Harvey with the shaved head and a toothpick in the corner of his mouth is Lieutenant Dan Parker, every inch of him screams out cop from his boxed chin to his grey grim eyes. Dan is about 6'0 tall and is top physical condition, his one cop you won't want to meet in a dark alley. But all their differences aside they have one thing in common...their the few honest cops in the police force.

"Gabe, how was the Big Apple?" Lt. Dan asks as he takes a seat on Gabriel's desk.
"Ok I guess. Didn't get to enjoy it from all the sudden swings off homesickness but once I saw you I wish I was back."
"Har dee Har. So funny I forgot to laugh."
"Break it up ladies. If ya want to flirt with each other, get each other's numbers...We just got a hot tip from an anonymous stranger. Vinney 'the Pug' Vito's is staying over at the Pink Flamingo, if we do this right we can catch him with pants down. Are we clear?"
The whole room sound off like they're the US Marines. "Yes Sir!"

Gabe hands Dan a sheet of paper. "Whats this?" he askes as he scans the paper quickly.
"My number..." Gabe walks away laughing. "Wiseguy eh?" Dan crumples the paper into a small ball and tosses it at Gabe which hits him right in the back of his head. Maybe someone should've warned Gabe that Dan used to be an all-american pitcher with the White Soxs back in the day...

Outside the Pink Flamingo, Captain Frost yells out orders "Dan, you take a group inside. Vito's staying at room 4 and try not to make to much of a noise. Gabe! You and me are going to stay out back no doubt they have a serect exit...What are y'all waiting for?! For me to hold your hand? Come on people get to it!"

The squad outside waits for Dan, impatience. Gabe drums his fingers across the car's hood. "Dan couldn't find a tree in a forrest cheif..." Officer O'Hare speaks up. "We give him one more min---"
Captain Frost stops and spots Vito running across the street with his pants barely hanging on, beside Vito is a woman who would be naked if she wasn't wearing Vito's jacket. Dan's close on their heels like a bloodhound on a convict...Harvey takes out his pistol from the holster and chases after them.
A loud burst is heard and Vito his lady friend drop to the floor...dead. Dan's falls as well but wounded on his shoulder. Captain Harvey who's speed and reflexes are honed by years on the battlefelid during the First War, He yells "Take Cover!".

The gunners come out from their hiding place and open fire into the cop cars. The gunners are heavily armed with three Tommy Guns while the Police are armed with only pistols and a shotgun which is useless thanks to the gunner's range. The police are pinned down and their only hope is if the gunner's were too stupid to pack more ammo. Gabe jumps into a nearby alley, he gets up and dusts himself off. He looks if anyone's watching but their to busy to notice that Gabe even left, Gabe reaches into his inner coat pocket and pulls out a small mask.

The Street Angel reaches the rooftop, he looks down and sees the gunners are reloading. Gabe looks around and spots a small cloth-hanging wire which connects the two buildings together. Gabe says a quick prayer and jumps off the roof...he manges to catch the wire but one of the ends gaved out and sents the Street Angel swinging across the street like Tarzan...
"Look up in the sky, cheif!"
"Its a bird!" one of the officers remarks
"Ya idiot! Thats an angel..." Officer O'Hare corrects the rookie cop.

Gabe lets go of the wire and he lands on top of the two gunners who were frozen stiff with shock...The last gunner fumbles to get another clip into the Tommy gun, he finally manges too but couldn't cock beacuse the Street Angel grabs his gun and begins to swing both the gunner and the gun around and around, he finally lets go of the gun and the gunner goes flying to a pile of trashcans. The Street Angel walks over to Lt. Dan and carries him to saftey...as he sets him down Captain Frost runs over to the Street Angel. "Who are you?!" Frost barks at the hero.
"I'm an angel of mercy, officer. I'm the Street Angel." He says in a serious tone so not to be recognized. "Tell the people of Chicago that there's a new guardian angel in town...and he doesn't turn a blind eye to crime." and with that the Street Angel dashes into an alley.

Goldface Testarossa doesn't receive the news so well. He cleans the blood from his metallic fists. "Take out da trash Micky..."  his henchmen take out whats left of the messenger. Giovanni walks over to a nearby mirror and fixs his tie "Oh Mickey...Sent some flowers over to his family...tell them he was hit by a car." "Ya boss." "And shut da door on yer way out Mickey..." he smirks and looks at the woman whos laying down on his desk. "Now where were we?" he asks a giggling Molly.

Gabriel leans back on his chair, his breathes easier when the doctor told them Dan was going to make it, he has the day off as he tries to heal. Around the police station everyone's talking about the same subject. No, not baseball but the Street Angel. Gabe smiles at the new attention his alter ego is getting, Gabe falls from his chair as he spots a beautiful woman who walked through the police station's door. She resembled silent film actor May Allison. From her blond hair right down to the button nose, she had pale skin, small brown eyes and has a short Bob haircut. She was dressed in dark blue blouse and a tan skirt with a white collar shirt and a matching tan hat.

Gabe gets it up and walks over to the woman. "May I help you miss?" he asks politely.
"Yes I'm Amy Blaine and I'm a---"
"Reporter?" He asks
"How did you know?" she asks with a puzzled look
"Its simple. First the notepad and pencil you have in your hands, along with the splash of ink on your fingertips, along with the words 'Daily News' on the top of your notepad. And I simply guessed with the clues in front of me, that your were a reporter."
"Wow...And you must be a detective, right?" she says with a smirk.
"Dectative Gabriel Saints." he shakes her hands.
"A pleasure Mr. Saints. Can you help with a paper I'm writing on?"
"I'll be honored too. Follow me to my desk Amy, I can call you Amy right?"
"Sure." she follows Gabe to his desk and notices a rather large revolver laying on top of a stack of papers. "You use that often Mr. Saints?"
"Not that much as I like too. So how can I help you Mrs. Blanie?"
"Its Ms. Blaine...Were you there when the Morello Brothers opened fire at Chicago Police?" she asks with a pen in her hand
"Is that who they were? Yes I was there."
"And?"
"Weeell...I took cover behind the squad cars and returned fire but before any one even blink the Street Angel just...flew in and saved the day."
"Can you describe how he looked?"
"I didn't get a good look...but he wore a trench coat and a mask."
"A-huh...Do you think he means well Mr. Saint?"
"Anybody whos willing to risk his life to save someone always means good, in my opinion."
"Well thank you for your time Mr. Saint." she begins to walk away
"Wait! I mean...I did answer your question maybe you can answer mine..." his gut feels like theres a thousand of butterflies flapping around.
She stops and looks at Gabe with wide eyes.
"Uh...What are you doing later tonight?"
she blushes bright red and looks down at the floor.
"Maybe We...Me and you can go get some dinner..." Gabe trys not to sound akward but fails as he rubs the back of his neck
Amy looks up "I'll like that Mr. Saint..." she writes on her notebook and tears a coroner of it and hands it to Gabe "Its my address by the way. Come by round 8..." She shoots Gabe another smile which for him, makes his heart skip a few beats.

Chapter 3- Lady Luck

South Racine Avenue, lays Salvatore's. A small family restaurant, famous all over the West Side for its homemade pastas and sauces which rival the best of Italian matriarchs'.  After waiting what seemed like hours in line, Gabe and Amy were finally seated, the fourth table beside the window. Gabriel is dressed in a fine black tux, which took him an hour to clean and iron perfectly. Amy's wearing a long red nightgown along with a silk scarf.

"So your from here Amy?" Gabe asks her as the waiter sets his plate of pasta down.
"Oh thank you sir..." She nods at the waiter "Yes I was born and rised in here. How bout you?"
"Oh the same old story. Farm Boy falls in love with the city and wastes all his money getting over here."
"Do you wish you can just take it all back?"
"No. Then I wouldn't be sharing a drink with the most gorgeous woman in Chicago."
"Flattery isn't going to get you any where Mr. Saint."
"Call me Gabe...And I ment everyword of it." He smiles as he pours Amy some wine.
She smiles "Tell me Gabe...Is their a reason why you asked me out? Or would you have asked any woman that walked through that door."
"What can I say? I have a thing for good looking reporters, lucky for both of us you walked through the door first."
"You never are at a loss with words are you Gabriel? Always ready to add a joke. Why is that?"
"Well Amy. I belive life's to dull and serious already and I always did swim againsit the current. But enough about me, I like to know more of the real Amy Blaine."
"Well I always did like the ocean. Ever since I was a little girl...I can't belive I'm telling you this but every summer my dad use to take us to California and we'll have the best time, swimming all day and looking at the stars at night. But...He soon passed away..." Gabriel can hint a tone of saddness in her voice.
"I'm sorry to hear that Amy..." Gabe grabs her soft hand and gives it a light kiss
They stare at each other's eyes for a long time. But soon shifted their eyes to a loud THUD which came from the kitchen. The manger was thrown from the kitchen and crashed into another couple's table. Giovanni fixs his suit as he walks in. He kneels on one knee and looks at the manger.

"I like diss place old man...I think I'll keep it."
"I perfer to die first then give my father's resturant to someone like you!"
"I'm hurt but have it your way..." Giovanni gets up and leaves toward the exit but not before he turns around and faces the whole room "Enjoy the rest of the night ladies and gentlemen. God knows this might be your last..." he laughs as he leaves.

"Who was that Gabe?" Amy asks
"I-I don't know..." Gabe remembers Giovanni from when he went to New York. His eyes turn to the large window and spots a small glare coming from outside. He quickly jumps from his chair and barley manges to cry "Everybody get down!" when the room is filled with bullets. The bullets tear through wood and fleash as they destroy the whole restaurant in matter of seconds. Gabe crawls over to a fightened Amy. He grabs her and holds her close...

After the mobsters left. Their was almost nothing left of Salvatore's. The Papers dubbed the accient the West Side Massacre. Gabriel's following any trail he can find but Giovanni's been playing it smart, staying away from public eye and if he does he just disappears. But soon Gabriel finds a big break. Lou 'Fat Boy' Costanza, use to be Vito's leg breaker till he was whacked by Giovanni. Lou's a fat man hence his nickname, he has black curley hair and a face that looks like a bulldog. Lou's known to have a big mouth and his been saying to some of his ex-crew that now work for Giovanni that they should "Feed dat F^%$er his own b@^%s!". Lou claims to know where Giovanni's staying at and thats enough for the Street Angel.

Somewhere under the L's. Lou's playing dice with some of the local hoodlums, "Come on baby! Gimme a 7!" Luck can be a harsh mistress and the dice lands on 5 "Oooh! Tough luck, pay up" Lou barks at the loser.
"Mind if I play?" a voice comes from behind Lou
"Uh sure buddy just..." Lou looks behind him and his face turns white like a ghost "DA STREET ANGEL!" the Street Angel grabs him by the collar and pins him to the wall "Where's Goldface?"
"I know nothin' from nothin'!" Lou squeals.
"Eh! Go climb up yer thumb buddy." one of the hoodlums speaks out. They say action speak louder then words, the hoodlums soon tackle the Street Angel to the floor. But soon find out the Street Angel's fights like a raging hurricane. Kicking and punching the hoodlums off of him. The Street Angel fixs his tie and walks up to Lou who watched the show.

"Look I don't want any trouble..."
"Just tell me where Giovanni's at."
"I don't know, I swear on my mama's grave!"
"So why you spreading the word you do?"
"I said I knew where his babe's at. Find her you'll find him..."

Chapter 4- Il Capo Di Capi

The Krazy Kat, a big time club owned by Capone. Its the flag ship of Al Capone's clubs, with live entertainment and enough booze to fill the Grand Canyon. Street Angel knocks on the large metal door and a slide opens, revealing a pair of small white eyes. "Da password?"
"Minty Hippo."
The door opens and the Street Angel walks down the stairway and through a long hallway. He finally reaches the end of it when two guards in tuxs ask for the second part of the password. "Water Water every where." They let him pass...he walks into a large room which appears to look like a orchestra house. Complete with a stage and an extensive bar. He looks around for a woman that fits the description, he finally finds her near the stage. He walks up to the table "Molly O' Dare?" he asks.
"Who wants to know?" she says in a disrespectful tone.
"I'm looking for your boyfriend..."
"Which one?" she asks while she chews on bubblegum
"The gold one..."
"Gio? Ain't he great? Sssaaaaay! Ain't you the Street Angel?"
"Guilty as charged."
She giggles "You look cuter then the press said."
"Thank you..." Gabe pulls up a chair and sits next to her.
"Now can you tell me where Giovanni's at?"
"Why do you want to find him? Don't you rather spend the night with me?" she winks and puts her hand on his lap.
"You look like a wonderful girl Molly but I'm taken..."
"Ma always said the good ones are..." theirs a hint of envy on her voice "His over in Al's hideout, Lexington Hotel."
"I'll make it up to ya Molly."
"Just go..."
He leaves without a word and leaves Molly to her thoughts. "God forgive me...Why do I always fall for the good guys?" she murmurs to herself.

Lexington Hotel or better known as Capone's Castle. Al who's dressed in a purple robe and black slippers, yells at Goldface. "Ya know how much heat ya bringin' on me Gio? DO YA?!"
Giovanni ignores him and enjoys his cuban cigar.
"Its to da point I can't even get my trucks past Chicago without 'em searchin' me...And da Street Angel's still alive! You promsied me he be dead!"

"Don't worry Al. I got everything planned, he should be here any minute...But you won't be alive to see it..." Giovanni tosses the cigar across the room and gets up from the couch. Al reaches inside his drawer and pulls out a sawed-off shotgun and presses the trigger.

If Giovanni was any normal man, he wouldn't have a face any more. But Giovanni Testarossa isn't just any man...his Goldface! He wasn't even harmed by the shotgun only his clothes are ripped and filled with bullet holes. Al tries to reload but Giovanni snatchs the shotgun and breaks it in half. Al punchs the golden wall of a man only to have his knuckles broken.
"AARG!" Al cries as he tries to get away from his killer. Giovanni wraps his hands around Al's neck and gives it a sharp twists... instead of his neck being broken...his whole head is ripped clean from his shoulders. Giovanni laughs "HAHA! Gotta really watch out for my strength. HAHA!"

"Boss...Sorry to interrupt yoose but we fond diss prick stalkin' round da hotel..." Two mobsters carry the Street Angel over to a chair that was sitting in the middle of the room. They tie him up with a thick heavy rope. Giovanni takes off his jacket and begins to roll up his sleeves above his forearms.

One of the mobsters try to remove the mask only to be bitten by the Street Angel "GAH! Motha F@$%er broke da skin!"
"Leave it on! It doesn't matter...I want to kill the idol not the human...Now lets see how ya like bein' da one on da seat Angel..."  Giovanni mocks him as he hits the Street Angel with a right hook that sents him and the chair to the floor.
"Pick him up!" he barks at his men who pick up the chair once more.
"Don't you dare die on me! DON'T YOU DARE!" Giovanni hits him with a hard jab to the face "I waited to long for you to wussy out on me!" he hits Street Angel in the ribs and again to the face.

Minutes later. Giovanni's wiping the blood from his fists "Your a tough prick ya know dat? Most people'll be died by now. But not yooou! Your half conscience...you desvere a round of a pulase."
Goldface begins to clap his metallic hands together but it sounds like two cars hitting each other.
"It was fun while it lasted ya got ta admit dat eh Angel? But all good things must come to an end..."
Goldface rises his fist in the air. "Say goodnight do-gooder..."

"Gioooo!" Molly shouts as she opens the door.
"NOT NOW MOLLY!" he lowers his fist and walks over to her. "I'm busy can't yoose see dat?!" he yells at her and then slaps her out the way and walks back to a dieing Street Angel

"You always were a prick Gio..." Molly yells out as she pulls out a blowtorch which she kept hidden and shoots a hot blue flame into Giovanni's face.

"AAAH! Dat hurt you lil B^$#&!" Giovanni grabs her by the neck and picks her up from her feet. He grabs the blowtorch and it breaks it. He drops Molly to the floor and walks over to the Street Angel

"WAT?! His gone!" Giovanni yells as he picks up the chair and smashs it onto the ground. He walks over to the gaint window and looks back at Molly "Wheres yer hero now Molly? Huh? He saved his own hide and left you alone with big bad ol' me..." He snatchs Molly by her hair and drags her to the window "Lets see if Super F^$#in' Man can save you!"
"Let her go Giovanni...Its me that you want..."
Goldface turns around and sees the Street Angel holding a rather long revolver at him. He lets her go "Have it your way."
"Run Molly and don't look back!"

"Look at yoose...Ya can't even stand rather den shoot dat cannon."
His right...The Street Angel's too weak and tired, he drops the gun. Giovanni laughs "You can't beat me kid, I'm da champ!"  The Street Angel tackles Goldface with such force that Gabe busted a shoulder, they both go flying through the window and collapse toward the the street below...

To slow down his speed the Street Angel flips and twrils around the air, he manges to catch onto a lightpole while Giovanni wasn't so lucky...Thanks to his golden skin he plunges like a bowling ball and lands onto the hard street.  The Street Angel runs into a nearby alley away from the crowd who begin to surround the area. He tries not to black out, he yanks off his mask and makes his way into a abandoned street and passes out...Gabe sees a white light and a beutiful angel who keeped whispering his name...

Gabriel wakes up and is meet with Captain Frost, Lieutenant Dan and Amy along with few doctors. "Your very lucky Mr. Saints. You could've died from internal bleeding if we didn't find you..."
"W-what what happened Doc?"
"Ya must've been wasted if ya can't remember what happened to ya Gabe. Ya were in a hit and run." Dan informs him
"Do you remember his number?" Captain Frost asks
"Huh? Oh no...the doctor said I'm fine so no harm done..." after a few hours talking and laughing with his friends they had to go "Cya next week champ." Lt. Dan yells out as he walks out the room. Captain Frost shakes his hand and leaves as well.

"You sure do have alot of people that care bout you Gabe." Amy says as she sits down on a chair, her head on his chest. "You had me worried..."

"Sorry about that sweetie...Should've not got drunk." He smiles at her and she returns the smile.
"Well I got to go Gabe. I got to go to work, seems a man with gold skin surived a fall from the Lexington Hotel not to mention he escaped from the police van on its way to prison..."

A feeling of fear grabs Gabe unsuspectly, if Giovanni's alive he'll sooner or later find who the Street Angel really is and when he does find out...Everything he loves will die...He looks at Amy.
"Please...Stay... with me Amy."
Amy looks at Gabriel and quickly nods and takes his hand and stays the rest of the day with him.
