LEGION OF SUPER HEROES ROUNDUP

James Arnold Taylor, who voices the lead role in Kids' WB!'s Johnny Test, is providing a guest voice in the Legion of Super Heroes animated series.

Taylor is playing Porcupine Pete in the upcoming "Substitutes" episode, which springs out of the classic Keith Giffen comics story.

In other Legion notes:

* Taylor Negron is providing the voice of Starfinger.

* Tara Strong, who played Alexis in "Legacy," will also be playing Esper in the upcoming "Lightning Storm."

* "Lightning Storm," which has been featured in recent Kids' WB! promos, was written by Stan Berkowitz, whose recent credits include Justice League Unlimited and the Justice League: New Frontier direct-to-DVD movie.

That episode features the return of Mekt. Click on image above for a larger image.

* The comic based on the TV show will be called The Legion of Super-Heroes in the 31st Century and will launch in April. The first issue will be written by J. Torres, with art by Chynna Clugston-Flores.

I have always been a big Legion Fan. I love the animated series and am waiting for the first season to come out on DVD. Any word on when it might be coming out? Also love the animated series comic as well as the Legion and Supergirl title. Writers are doing a great job of updating 31st century characters with a 21st century spirit.

So far all they have is Volume One on DVD which only has like 4 episodes I believe. I've enjoyed the new TV series. Can't wait to see what they do in the second season.

I hope they take the approach that Justice League Unlimited took where they would take an episode and focus on one or two lesser known legionairres to give them an opportunity to shine.

I'd love to see some detailed character studies plus maybe give us more of an idea of what the future is really like for the average guy. Problem is they only have like 13 episodes or so to play with.
