Here's some of the best stuff I think on Time Travel.

The Philedelphia Experiment Cool movie from the 80's where a guy on board the Battleship Eldridge in the 40's ends up in the 80's. Goes along with all the conspiracy theories involving the Philedelphia Experiment. TheSecond One straight to video release I wasn't too crazy about.

The Final Countdown

The Final Countdown is one of my all time favorites with Kirk Douglas and Martin Sheen it features a story about the nuclear-powered U.S.S. Nimitz getting caught into a time storm and ending up in time right before the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Outer Limits Time Travel Episodes If you read the editorial it comments that the older Outer Limits was better somehow. I've seen the old and the new, and any thoughts that the old series is better is purely based on a lost sense of sentimentality. The old show isn't in the same par of the Twilight Zone where old effects don't hamper the incredible story telling. The new Outer Limits just runs rings around the old one. The above link shows a DVD set of 6 episodes of the new series. That's one I'm going to have to get.

Star Trek Time Travel Episodes

Back to the Future You can get this whole trilogy in one DVD set now. It's the best time travel movie in it's great overall fun and adventure. It makes time travel fun and Michael J. Fox did a great job on this one like he usually does. This was back when Family Ties was real big. You wouldn't know it by watching but according to Fox he was only getting a couple of hours sleep a night working on the Back to the Future movie and Family Ties at the same time.

The Twilight Zone Unfortunately they don't seem to have an anthology collection of Twilight Zone Time Travel episodes. You just have to get the whole series to catch them, but even without big effects these are some of the most thought provoking time travel stories you'll ever see.

The ones that really stand out to me in my mind are the the ones featuring the actor who played the Professor on Gilligan's Island going back in time to the day Lincoln was shot, and the episode about the man on the wagon train who goes from the 1800's to modern time and back again.

Both versions of the H.G. Wells Time Machine are pretty good. The New Time Machine has a lot better effects than the old one, but the old Time Machine is still pretty interesting.

Somewhere in Time is a good one to watch with your wife. It's mostly a romantic movie vs a thought provoking time travel piece. But if you are a big Christopher Reeve fan you might like this one just to see Reeve act.

Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure used to be a favorite of mine back in the day just for laughs.

Quantum Leap featured nothing but time travel and it was a great series from beginning to end. I still hate the fact they canceled it.

Time Tunnel is old school and I haven't had a chance to really sit down and watch a full episode. It used to come on in the mornings on the Sci-Fi channel.

Other movies that feature elements of Time Travel

Army of Darkness is a must for sci-fi fans. Ash is the most awesome almost superhero there is period.

Planet of the Apes shows us a future gone horribly wrong where monkeys rule. Hate the fact they left such a big cliff hanger on the last one with Wahlberg but never made a sequel.

Lois and Clark had a few time travel episodes with none other than H.G. Wells and the hilarious villain Tempus.

There's probably a lot more but I can think of anymore right now.

Another cool one.

Star Trek 4 The Voyage Home.

It's funny the actual plot was kind of dumb, but the movie is priceless just to see Spock, Kirk, and the rest in the 20th Century dealing with loud music from punks to finding their way in a big city.

The crew has to save some whales in the 20th Century to save the future. I forget those details. It's the Spock given the Vulcan pinch to a loud punk on a bus that I'll always remember, and Kirk's attempts at four letter words to fit in to the 1980's.

This was my favorite Star Trek movie of all time barely above Star Trek 3. If I'm not mistaken Star Trek 4 was also the most profitable Trek of all time as well with $109,713,132 million dollars in the US alone. To contrast "Generations" where they killed off Kirk only made $75,668,868 in the U.S. These figures according to imdb anyway.

they killed captain kirk. well, that was stupid, but as long as we can still say, "BEAM ME UP SCOTTY"

Oh yeah worst death of a major character in the history of filmdom. Instead of Kirk going off to war against an unstoppable army in outer space with lots of great drama, he falls off a cliff fighting one dude.

ow. that show went on forever and they killed him with one guy. that is sh******y sorry but it is. they shouldve had him going into some suicide battle to defend somethin and you dont see what hapens, the show ends.sucky death

Yeah before I saw the movie, I was thinking Kirk has to go out in a huge blaze of glory. What a waste. Why kill a legendary character and not take advantage with a super large dramatic battle. I think the writers weren't really fans of Kirk which means they should have gotten someone else to write the death of Kirk.

It was almost like Kirk's death was just a footnote when that was the whole reason I paid to see that movie.

so it was known that kirk was gonna die.

Oh yeah that was one of the main reasons to see it, that and the fact it was the first time the Next Generation were getting their own movie. It was supposed to be a transitional movie I guess.

I guess you guys don't know about Sapphire and Steel, a brooding, intense British sci-fi series that starred Joanna Lumley and David McCallum as the psychic detective and her strong bodyguard who can travel through time.  They also fight time itself.

There were six adventures of the show, done in 38 episodes.  The best one was Adventure Five, which was written by the Dr. Who writers.  It's a sci-fi version of And Then There Were None.  At a 1930 theme party, time moves a mansion back in time.  As it does, the people who weren't alive in 1930 are promptly murdered and then eventually forgotten by the survivors.

S and S the audio series is also available from BigFinish.com.  In this series, the heroes were able to come back from the trap in limbo that their evil counterparts had put them in.  (In Adventure Six of the TV show, the bad guys won, and the heroes were trapped in another dimension forever.)

S and S have sacrificed innocent people for the greater good in both the TV and audio series.  This has always raised controversial reactions from their audience.  Do look for the TV show transcripts on the internet and buy the audio series if you can.

Later, Howard

Never heard of it, maybe I'll do a search for it on the net.

The only time travel British series I've watched is "Life on Mars" about a cop that gets into a coma and wakes up in 1970's. I've only seen one season so far. I hope there's another one. It was pretty awesome.
