You may have seen this when you were looking for the first dark knight returns book.  This is the story before the Dark Knight Strikes Again (DK2). Frank Miller, same style as DK2 but better story. This one's actually all about Batman as he makes his return as Batman and finds his new Robin (see above pic).  It takes place after the whole dick grayson era and after an apparent 10 years without batman.  It's entertaining but lags sometimes whwen frank goes into these little bubbles that show the news and peoples opinions of batman.  The action however, is awesome.  The mutants are terrorrizing Gotham as Commisioner Gordon gets ready for retirement.  Batman beats the crap out of the leader with robin's assistance and then the rest is history.  This acclaimed mud fight can also be seen in Batman the animated series volume 4.  A kid tells how they think batman is and it shows the mud pit fight.
So this cost me $10 but it's the size of about five comics put together so I was happy.
9 out of 10

You notice Frank Miller seems to draw Batman very bulky. What's up with that I wonder?

he's always seem to draw his heroes bulky and larger than anyone around them, take marv from sin city for instance. also, that page was paticularly bulky, i dont know why.[smirk]
