will you be posting it on the board anytime soon?

We start our own universe kind of like image comics did. We all retain copyrights to our own individual characters, but we can do teamups or whatever.

How about the Superhero Universe? Since it's the name of the website, or whatever.

We could start with online comics right here on this site. The possibilities are endless then if we get a following we can figure out how to publish books. Heck, I would love for a movie studio to contact me for my story. If you are going to dream, dream big. Have to start somewhere.

Gee, Floyd I dont know. Is that like a serious group or one with a humorous side to it?

Sounds like something from the Tick. Hard to say much from just a name.

Posted:  05 Jun 2006 19:29
well it is like the the fantastic four of the sixities. it is very science fiction like . so tim do u think i should think of a new name?
Posted:  05 Jun 2006 22:42
Yeah, think of it like this today a super hero has to be something that sounds good for kids an adults, and I'm not sure that name would sound cool for kids. When in doubt though ask a kid. I've started getting my kids opinion on my character. Kids have a gut instinct for stuff. They tell you what they like whether you want to hear it or not sometimes.

Oh yeah I'm decided to officially change the name of Time Runner to Time Rider. I just can't get away from that name even when I'm writing I keep wanting to put Time Rider down instead of Time Runner.

I tend to go with my gut too, besides my kid likes it better. Can't argue with a kid.

TIME for a new hero, good pun
and floyyd, i would cut the name (if you use it) to just the surrogates, for sure (no pun intended)
like instead of the human spider, spider-man

I guess I should have asked Floyd when he first asked about the name. It just occurred to me that I'm not quite sure what surrogate means. Seems like something that has to do with parenting or something, but I really don't know.

Thanks superdude. You guys have encouraged me a lot with this. I hope I can get a whole story done, and done well in comic book visual form soon.

hey tim have you decided what publisher you will go with or if your even gonna publish it at all. (thanks for the advice superdude.)
Posted:  06 Jun 2006 20:29
cause like super dude said if they can publish crap like sandman endless nights they should not even think twice about time rider. (OK that really isnt what he exactly said but that is basacially what he was getting at)
Posted:  07 Jun 2006 12:29
yesah, but i would try getting it published at all, rather than trying to make a choice.

tim when are you going to start the next story?
Posted:  07 Jun 2006 16:43
Well right now I'm working on the pictures for the part of the story I've got done so far.

While I'm doing that I'm trying to figure out in my mind where the best way to go with the story is at this point. I've got a couple of ideas, but I haven't decided yet. Any recommendations, ideas, or suggestions?

Have to work on the pictures in the evenings as time allows.

work in the origin with flashbacks during a story arc, after the first one, where you're trying to interest people. like batman begins. maybe an arc where a repoter gets a hold of him and asks him about why he's so weird, and she only gets a straight answer when she sees him beam away into time. she gets his past story and everything, comic book history loves hot female reporters

The origin page with ufo and the airplanes will be part of the first story. I'm going to insert it probably right at the beginning.

I'm not sure about where to put a hot female reporter though.

it will come to you all in do time.
Posted:  08 Jun 2006 15:43
ventually though, an in depth origin will be expected. you could even make a mini series likie
TIME RIDER: ORIGIN

I figure that once I start cranking out stories, that I should drag out his origin and such to add mystery and keep people reading.

Seems like the more questions you create with a story the more interesting it becomes, as long as you answer questions along the way.

yeah, time rider, origin that has a nice ring to it.
Posted:  08 Jun 2006 22:27
yeah but dont be one of those stories that has questions never answered.

no, I hate it when stories leave you hanging forever without any answers. I think the trick is to answer one question and present another one to keep up the interest, but I also like the idea of having complete stories  that you don't have to buy 5 comics to keep up with. It's a fine line.
Posted:  09 Jun 2006 04:52
that is why i like time rider (WHEN it gets published  you wont have to buy 5 issues to keep up with one story)
