I think Batman Begins blew all the other ones away. It's a lot more mature then the other ones, but the villians weren't my favorites but the actors made them mine. I can't wait till the sequel because it looks like it'll have the Joker in it:)

What I like most about this movie are the human and realistic qualities of Batman.
I'm wondering why these people put such an obvious mistake as the water transformer thing in it. I mean, it transforms fluid water to steam. Sure everybody knows humans are +90% made out of water. Or is it a fact that in every superhero/hollywood movie there has to be something completely unrealistic? (of course it's all fantasy, but still, it's a fantastic character put in a realistic setting).

[smirk]its great and it goes more into how he learned everything. i have to agree with Fidelio, but, as in i liked how they made the villains more realistic then the ones in Batman Forever an Batman & Robin, the villains there were a joke. this movie blows those 2 way out there. i wounder how they're gunna present us with the Joker, perhaps like the joker in the new series "The Batman" (i only hope)
as for the Batmobile, well, it kicks but, the next movie they should combine this one with the one in Batman Returns (the features..ooo..the features
i just hope they're not gunna make it look cheesy like the ones in the last 2. cuz those ones sucked.
this movie has a better beging/introduction to Batman.
but one thing that really bothers me,
i thought Batman doesn't meet Ra till much later, an that Ra has a daughter around Bruces age that has a thing for him like Catwoman.

I think every interpretation of a super hero whether it's tv or movie is going to take some elements and leave others. It probably would be less interesting if we could predict everything that happens on a movie from what we've already read in comic books. Although that said I hate it when the basic fundamentals of a character are left out or changed. Batman Begins get's the basics right and that helps make it a great movie. If what I was reading about Wonder Woman becomes true concerning taking away her star spangled uniform. I think it's going to stink. I think if a character goes to the big screen and somebody like Joss Whedon wants to take away the costume then don't call it wonder woman call it something else like buffy the return because that's what it is, something else. It's complete arrogance to change a character to the point the audience doesn't even recognize them.

i agree with u there, i guess thats the main reason why i didnt even bother to watch Catwoman. out of all the catwomans i have seen, pretty much the only thing showing is the mouth an hair.
from the comments an opions i herd from others, i think they did that to the charactor to try to get none comic ppl instrested. which in my mind is wrong since the other movies didnt do it for them.

This is the Batman movie that I've been waiting on since I was 10 years old. I am so pleased with everything about this film...I can't even begin to express how happy it makes me!!!

BATMAN BEGINS
I read your review and I agree with most of it. I wasn't sure about Bale but he did pull it off - especially playing Batman - with a darkside.
One thing that I was not impressed with was the lack of Batman Gold Scenes. You're right, the Batmobile got it's on camera time and worked but I wanted more Gold Scenes with Batman fighting, seeing him in motion. Every fight scene was like Saving Private Ryan: fast useless CUTS (which was okay for SPV not for BR).
I wanted less FLASH CUTS and more of those well done fight scenes with stunt kickboxers.
The script was great: with the character development and build up to him, the scenes and DP work also worked really well. 1989: I said, that Harrison Ford could have walked on to the Bladerunner set with the costume and it would have made a better movie. It happened! Chris Nolan kept it real. 9 out of 10

I'm like you Utah. I prefer well choreographed fight scenes to the super quick flash cuts. I think the main reason for that to be honest is the fact that the Bat suit is so heavy, that the actor or stuntman wearing the suit can't move as quickly as one would like for a fight scene. That is the one thing that has always perplexed me, why do the Batman movies always incorporate costumes that weigh the actor down so much?

"Batman Begins" was an excellent prequel to the original "Batman" directed by Tim Burton. These two directors are the only ones who truly understood the legacy. Schumacher was completely lost even though he tried to include really good villians. They would have made it if the producers had not wanted to go so far from the source material. The super quick cut scenes did still some momentum in the latest installment, however, you prefer these scenes more than you would the ridiculous stunts pulled off in the other ones, by Schumacher. The only halfway saving grace that came from S's films are the inclusion of Robin. His suits were cool and he was the right actor to play the role. Yet even he was not enough to save the Franchise because S just did not "get it".

I do still enjoy the Michael Keaton Batman, yet Christian Bale nails the Batman role as well. The beauty is that Bale is the Batman that we would expect in his youth, and Keaton can be imagined as a more seasoned Batman. I think that these two actors alone compliment each other in what Batman was and is supposed to be without taking away from each other's performance. What do you think?

You're right about Robin. He was pretty cool and was better than Clooney. Argg! brain lock what was the actors name that played Robin.

dont know, but, yea Robin was the better one of those 2 films. he would be great to play Knightwing if they make a movie surrounding Dick Grayson.
the Batman movies are kinda getting old. its like they're wearing down a classic. they should make a JLA movie by now

hey omnimon,, the latest catwoman production was in no way connected or tied to DC comics, it was a theory cooked up by some fool sitting in his mum's basement at 38 and if i may voice my oppinion, then catwomman the new version is a closer cousin to Cats&Dogs than to batman robin catwoman or any other DC comics character [smirk]

Another thing about putting Catwoman to the big screen, is the regular shifts in outfit she's had so far. I believe she's had 9 different (and not just a bit different) costumes in the comics through the years. Only the fact that she has a whip and looks more or less like a cat (except for the very beginning) has survived the years. So it's not easy to just pick one of those if you want to make a movie, unlike Batman or Superman and so many others.
Of course this movie didn't deal with Selina Kyle, the DC Catwoman.

bladexliv, Batman begins isn't a prequel, it's the beginning of a completely seperate series, and thank God for that, I'd hate to think that the Batman in this movie would become the one played by Clooney. That would totally ruin the movie for me.

I definately thought the movie was the best of the series but I have one question about continuity. Who Kills batmans parents??? Just before they were killed in batman begins I expected the hear a young joker say something about dancing in the moonlight with the devil. Was that just creative liscence in the other movie or did batman begins make a goof??

i dont even like batman movies that much but this one set a new standard for the character. DC just boosted its rep with this mivie, hopefully they wont trash it with the superman movie.
batman was also great because of its supporting actors. michael kane, morgan freeman, and the guy that was qui gon jinn in star wars all did a great job. and christian bale was awesome too. if u like christian bale, see Equilibrium, that was an awesome movie. __________________"You...complete me."

To me, this one was the best of them all; a bit more serious and realistic. Maybe I'm wrong but I just thought that this movie was sort of supposed to be a finish but I guess not if some of you are talking about sequels. My only worry with that is if Bale will continue to play the role or will they use someone else? He did an awesome job here and it would just ruin it if they cast someone else.

so is it like, a garuntee that they're making a sequel? i'd love to see joker with todays CG action he could be awesome, and I agree about Christian Bale, if they make a sequel they've got to stick with the main actors that they had in the firt one. __________________"You...complete me."

ugh, i hate to say it, but batman begins didnt do it for me. dont get me wrong, i loved it, but i think they under used the scarecrow character. I also think they should have made gotham more menacing like in tim burtons version, NOT like a dowwn town new york. i give it a 7

oh and the only things i didnt really like about the original batman was the lack of humor in the joker. Hes supposed to be this insane mad man, not some grumpy boring old man.(and did anyone else notice the cops wearing french hats as henchman)
and i hated that they cast michael keaton as batman for two reasons
-he was SHORT, batmans supposed to be intimidating!
-and he had curly hair with a reaceding hair line, not the suave womanizer that they make bruce wayne out to be
