I plan on attending Planet Comicon next weekend (March 27th) in Overland Park, Kansas. Will be me and the boys 4th consecutive year, 3rd with the wife and daughter in attendance. Obviously not a huge convention, but for being with-in about a 3 ½ hour drive it’s well worth it. Lou Ferrigno and Helen Slater are scheduled to be there this year.  Lou has cancelled in the past, so who knows. Over the years I’ve seen David Prowse, Kenny Baker, and Peter Mayhew, all from the original Star Wars movies. Couple good autographs I’ve gotten are Walter Koeing (below) in 2008, artist Rich Buckler, and writer Gary (70s Ghost Rider) Friedrich. Also seen Michael Golden, Jim Lee, and Herb Trimpe. Fun seeing all the costumed people also. My daughter was taken aback at first, but after a Stormtrooper reassured her, she wanted to take photos with everyone. Though there are many celebrities of different levels, I really go for the shopping. I’ve bought tons of cheap Marvel Essential/DC Showcases along with figures, statues, and such. One real good buy last year was the Alan Scott mini bust with prop ring. I’d wanted it for awhile and it was at a great price. Looking forward to this year and we’ll see what shows up......

Wish it was closer I'd go, according to yahoo it's like 10 hours away from me though.

David Prowse came to my school to tell us how to cross the Road. He was dressed as a superhero called The Green Cross Code Man (sadly not Darth Vader) Must of been about 1980.

Have to make it to ComiCon at least once in my life. I'd like to do before the boys (13 and 15) fly the coop. Have a general plan to meet up with my brother (and his son) sometime within the next 3 years. Alternative is the Chicago Wizard Con.
