Actor Corey Haim -- best known for 80s films including License to Drive, Watchers, and the Lost Boys -- has died at the age of 38.

Los Angeles Police Department confirmed the actor's death to TV station KTLA.

According to police, Haim, who had past substance-abuse problems, died at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday of an accidental overdose.

He reportedly was found unresponsive at his apartment. He was with his mother at the time of his death.

He was later pronounced dead at Providence St. Joseph's Medical Center in Burbank.

Corey Haim movies

This kind of shocks me. This guy is from my generation. I must have watched Lost Boys a million times.

Lost Boys is one of my all time favorites. One of the best 80's movies.

This is a shame. They didn't even ask him to do a cameo in the lastest Lost Boys film.

He was in the last few seconds of the second one. I think he showed up as a vampire unless I'm remembering wrong. That was like the best part. The rest of the movie wasn't that good. Not like the first one at all.

Really? I don't remember seeing him. I may be wrong though.

You're right Tim. He was at the end of the credits. He was about to fight Edgar Frog (Cory Feldman)
