Guys need some feed back. How many of you all would be interested in getting your own page on superherouniverse that you could edit at will? Something like perhaps a forum page, gallery page you already have but put in a url like superherouniverse.com/Tim

Of course instead of Tim it would be your user name. I was thinking that it could give everybody something easy to promote their stuff and of course it would help the site at the same time.

Like to know before I spend a lot of time working on it. So let me know guys. I think it might be a good idea myself.

I second the motion, let's do this

Quote:
url like superherouniverse.com/Tim

Of course instead of Tim it would be your user name

let's hope so or it might get a bit confusing if we were all named Tim

Ok guys keep checking back today. I'm working on it to see what I can cook up.

Ok first attempt for Lectrohm. Will await feedback before making any changes. You already had a static page. I just inserted your message board section into it. http://superherouniverse.com/lectrohm/

Only thing I see wrong with that is you have to go to the message board to edit it. It falsely appears to log you out, but after you click on any other link you will still be logged in.

I can use any page on this site to insert there. I believe. If you want I can try to insert your gallery section instead, a wiki page, or any other message board page you want in your forum section.

Now Midnight Avenger here's yours same thing as Lectrohm appears to log you out until you click on a link and then your really still logged in. http://superherouniverse.com/midnightavenger/

I didn't know what you wanted the url to say so I just put midnightavenger. Could be anything you want.

Also again I could try to use your gallery page to insert into your new url, or your wiki page. Let me know.

So guys tell me what you think, and which way you want to try and go with it.

Wayne and Trickstyx what do you want your url to say? Like superherouniverse.com/Wayne superherouniverse.com/trickstyx something like that?

Do you all want it to house your gallery sections or messageboard sections? Or do you want it to use the wiki?

Let me know what you want the address to be and then I can always change the other stuff around hopefully to whatever works best for you all.

I'm ok with that address.

I'm happy just to have something to link to the gallery/ messageboard section.

Just as long as it's simple to understand
Posted:  12 Aug 2009 00:37
actually... superherouniverse.com/myworldcomics is what i would like, than i'll have all my stuff under a banner. if its not to much to ask.

Ok now which format do you all like best? The wiki or the messageboard? Or which one is easiest to work with?

Sounds fine generally. Is it difficult though? I know next to nothing about url's and such. Are you concerned about having initially less control over postings and edits?....jerod

hey Tim could you change mine to midnightavengercomics or just the logo MAC? Sort of like with Trickstyx that way its under my banner.

I think I use the message board more but I also like the wiki. Is the url only capable of one or the other?

Trick: Let's go with the forum setup since you aren't familiar with wiki. I basically want to go with something you think would be easiest for you.

Jerod: No it's not really going to change things other than giving you all some kind of easy to remember url to your work.

midnight: I can change it no problem, but are you sure you want to add more characters to your url. That might make it harder for others to remember. You let me know for sure though and I can change it in a second.

Well think of it this way. I have two ways of doing this right now. One fix it so a whole page inserts itself directly into your page, or creating a redirect which just means you type in your address and it redirects you to your wiki page.

Ok so Trickstyx here's your page at this point. http://superherouniverse.com/myworldcomics/

I pasted in your comics by hand, but you can see it's basically your forum pages inserted into the page so anytime you add something it will automatically show.

For some reason it appears as though you are logged out, but you only have to click on any link or go to the messageboard and you will still be logged in.

I can insert any page you want into your page for example your forum member page http://superherouniverse.com/messageboard/index.php?a=member&m=568, or if you want to give a go at wiki you can make a wiki page just for yourself I can put in there.

Next I'm going to work on automatically having your recent gallery images loaded onto the page.

hmm {scratches head} now I'm confused. Leaving it as midnightavenger works for me I've really got no problems with that.

Let me think on the rest of it for awhile. I'll probaly just stick with the message board for now. I haven't updated my wiki in a while anyway.

Ok, hopefully as we go along all confusion will be lifted. Just keep an eye out for everyone's pages in case somebody get's something different that you want.

Now Trick here's your page now with your gallery images at the bottom.

http://superherouniverse.com/myworldcomics/

Sorry if it the gallery section is a little rough. I mainly was trying to avoid repeating the header again but lost the black template portion of it.

Just tell me if you think it needs more work and I'll keep trying to make it better.

Midnight I added your gallery stuff at the bottom
http://superherouniverse.com/midnightavenger/

Let me know if you like that or not. Any time you add something to the gallery it will show up there automatically unless it's in one of your subcats.

Jerod http://superherouniverse.com/jerod/

Everybody take a look at this one and tell me which one do you want.

Jerod's version with unfortunately two headers or like Tricks version http://superherouniverse.com/myworldcomics/  but with less template in it.

Oh and Jerod you can edit the top part by simply clicking on My Preferences on the board. Then scroll toward the bottom where it says "User Information" you can add anything you want the same way you edit a message on the board.

Wayne you are next. Bono do you want your own url? Anybody else?

Ok Wayne which one do you like best and everybody else weigh in on what you think is better.

version one http://superherouniverse.com/wayne

version two  http://superherouniverse.com/wayne/index2.htm

And Lectrohm let me know what you think about the gallery added to yours http://superherouniverse.com/lectrohm/

Now I guess I wait upon you all to tell me what you think and wait for any requests for urls from anybody else.

Hey Tim,

I like the first one you did for Wayne with the border twice b/c it is tidier. I hate to bother you but can you make mine look like that too but instead of my galleries can you add the midnightavengercomics gallery you made under Supherherouniverse Original Characters http://superherouniverse.com/art/showgallery.php?cat=755? That's where I'll probably be adding any new pics of my characters anyway.

Oh and thanks for adding the wiki link near the title at the top that way its easy to access as well. Now I just need to get on there and make a few edits so that its up to date

Tim, can you do so I got my gallery under my stories? Just like Midnight has or Trickstyx.
