In an effort to not fall too far behind Bono's part of the story I only made minor edits turning this into a two parter as well...takes place directly after Rovers 4 and during Captain Midnight 10

Seamus Flannigan hurriedly explained the impending doom to his colleagues. He rambled on about giant nearly unstoppable robots and global panic. About how it wasn’t just Boreas City, they were hitting multiple cities all over the world at the same time.

“Think of destruction on a Godzilla scale” Seamus insisted “does anyone remember the conspiracy reports that came out after the end of World War II?”

“What reports?” Gabriel asked “or rather which reports are you referring too?”

“The strangeness that happened in 1946 on the Clockwork Atoll is what I mean” Seamus said heatedly. *see Johnny Reb and the Maverick Men for more info*

“You are not talking about the cloven hoofed metal men are you?” Ethan said exasperated “you know that is nothing but utter nonsense.”

“Wait a minute I haven’t heard about this” Billy interrupted.

“The giant cloven robot” Seamus said ignoring Ethan’s protests “seems to have fought against Johnny Reb and a group called the Maverick Men after WWII had ended. During his debriefing Johnny Reb was quoted as to saying ‘the cloven beast emitted a cry during the battle that seemed like a distress call’. It seems that the rest of them have finally answered that call because the images in the Bodach’s mind were that of giant cloven hoofed robots attacking cities all around the world.”

“Conspiracy theorists are nothing but a bunch of whackos” Ethan countered “besides are we really going to trust that creature’s thoughts? Couldn’t he have just been toying with you?”

“Enough” Gabriel intercedes “we don’t have time to argue amongst ourselves if these reports are to be believed. We only have ten minutes left before the attack. We need a plan.”

“We hit them with everything we’ve got” Seamus said “I’ll cast some protective wards to shield us from the first wave of attacks. These creatures don’t seem to be vulnerable to any particular item. But I’m betting these creatures don’t have a resistance to holy artifacts or magic.”

Then a loud crashing noise could be heard from the center of the street. Two large looming figures of metal blocked out the sun casting everything in shadow. They moved slowly at first building up momentum crushing cars and fleeing people alike beneath cloven hooves. Seamus fired off several rounds of brimstone from his revolver as he shouted at the civilians to head for cover.

The fire hit the first cloven beast without leaving any discernable marks “War Angel, Rook try and close in with your swords” Seamus yelled as he put the useless revolver away.

The creature trampled everything in sight while searching for its primary target. Scanning the city with its sensors it realized it had overshot the target by six miles. It turned toward its target and starting heading off in a northeastern direction plowing through buildings as it did so. The second beast found the secondary target toward the west and began moving in that direction.

War Angel dove down upon the second beast from above swinging his fiery sword down striking on its dome head. The fire had no effect but the blade itself caused a small indentation in the dome exposing some of the creature’s circuitry.

Ethan McKnight ran toward the first beast swinging his golden sword. Its blinding light filled the air momentarily stunning the giant robot. He rammed the blade into the beast’s ankle with all his might. The sword penetrated the beast’s metal exterior and sunk deep into the circuitry beneath the surface.

Coyote charged his hatchets with the spirit energy that he channeled from his spirit guide and threw them both on a trajectory that would cause them to hit both metal creatures. One of the hatchets hit home burying itself up to the handle into the first beast’s shoulder while the second beast was struck in the domed head.

Howling in fury the cloven beasts twitched spasmodically, swinging arms around wildly knocking back their attackers. War Angel flapped his wings climbing skyward in an effort to get out of the robots reach. The Rook had to flip backwards to avoid being hit with a cloven hoof.

Seamus ripped off his coat exposing his cybernetic arm. It was a weird sight to see the metal move as if liquid and alter its shape. Where the hand had been, now there was a sharp blade sizzling with electricity, the paranormal investigator moved, quicker than would be expected of a man carrying the added weight of a metal arm, and jumped up into the air only five feet from the first creature.

Using magic to propel him upward in a superhuman leap, Seamus managed to hurl himself up to chest level and land on the beast’s shoulders. Then he plunged the electrified blade into the back of the creature’s head. Sparks flew as the energy was discharged into the dome frying the cloven beasts control circuitry.

Roaring in pain the giant robot charged forward in a rush slamming its bulk through the multistory Boreas Mall causing the building to collapse into a pile of debris. Seamus swore under his breath as he attempted to surround as many civilians as he could in a protective cocoon to shield them from the falling rubble.

The Rook ran forward and threw himself up under a section of the Mall’s roof catching it in his armored hands, using his suit given strength to brace it allowing people to scramble out from beneath it. Coyote was on hand to help them get clear as his spirit guide took shape and seeped through slabs of concrete looking for anyone that may have still been trapped beneath.

Even through the team’s efforts injuries still occurred on a massive scale. War Angel began using his healing abilities to treat the injuries of those who were the worse off. But as the team continued their relief efforts the closest beast reared up again throwing a section of wall that had fallen on it ten feet up into the air.

Before the concrete could do anymore damage Seamus fired off three bursts from his hellfire revolver which shattered it into several hundred million tiny shards that would cause no more damage than potentially giving people concrete splinters.

By this time the team lost track of the second beast. It had presumably continued on its course to whatever target it was searching for. Seamus looked around but it was no use the creature was out of sight.

“Coyote, I need you to track that beast down and try and stop it before it does anymore damage!”

Heeding Seamus’ command Coyote ran to his motorcycle and whistled for his spirit animal. Then he headed off west in the direction the creature had been moving last time he’d seen it.

Suddenly the first beast brought forth a long metal fork ended weapon from out of nowhere.  It reminded Seamus of a tuning fork. A strange hazy energy lanced out from the weapon and penetrated several hundred civilians who were still trying to get free of the Mall’s rubble. Rook and War Angel watched in horror as each person suddenly went limp as their life was extinguished.

“What kind of monsters are these?” Rook shouted as he held a dying woman in his arms.

“They are unholy whatever they are” War Angel shouted back “we need to destroy them fast.”
