The non-existent room behind door A-51 was completely empty except the filing cabinet that inhabited the corner. The security on the door and the cabinet could not be breached without the proper sequence of keys, the right finger prints, or the retinal scan. That is by any normal human being. But I was anything but normal. My newfound phasing ability allowed me to move right through the door without triggering the alarms. And then I simply removed the locks from the cabinet by phasing them through the metal.

The files inside were not just about the biological enhancement program. That was just the one I was most interested in.

Of course I couldn’t help myself from peaking at the other documents while in a room that was off-limits to virtually everyone. Now I know what really happened at Roswell, New Mexico, man if that monster ever gets loose. Did you know that the Bermuda Triangle was a government time-travel experiment gone wrong? Hell I even found out what happened to Amelia Earhart; let’s just say she’s not sleeping with the fishies.

Anyway none of that’s important right now. What is important is what’s happening to Blake Hawthorn. My partner or my future nemesis, I’m not sure yet. Out of the two of us he’s the most like Edgar, and I’m the most like Lucy. Normally I’d get upset at being compared to a girl no matter what the species. But in this case I’m grateful.

Yesterday Blake lost it during training, I mean really lost it. The two of us were running a simulation. We were pinned down by enemy forces in Afghanistan. The only thing we had available were our rifles and our abilities to rely on. The radar sense worked out fairly well. Seeing every potential hostile glowing with a red hue helped us keep them straight even amidst the manikin civilians that were scattered around the area. The phasing worked pretty well too. I mean the army was called in to help us run the simulation and they were firing live ammo. Several shots struck me right through the heart in the first five minutes. I keep thinking what if I hadn’t been able to phase?

But between the two of us, Blake and I had been able to neutralize each target. We were given tranquilizers as our ammo so the soldiers were only put to sleep for fifteen minutes not actually wounded. But then after everyone was down for the count I found myself dodging fire from my partner. He had a wild look in his eyes as he unloaded a full magazine of tranqs at me. Luckily I phased through those as well.

After he ran out of ammo his breathing became labored and he dropped to the ground. Dr. Fuerst was on scene to sedate him. Then they carried him off on a stretcher. They wouldn’t even tell me where they took him.

to be continued...

I want to know more about that.

It'll potentially come out later...I already know the basics of how I want it to have gone down. But I'm not as much of a time travel buff as you are so I don't have a clue what could scientifically cause it. I may have to invent my own scientifc devise, my own Flux Capacitor if you will to explain it.

I only mention that stuff b/c eventually some of the secrets there will become missions for him to complete. Such as the Roswell monster escaping and he being the only one who can stop it. I'm not sure at this point what will reopen the Bermuda Triangle experiment for him to have to investigate it.

Oh by the way Did you notice the door of the room is labeled A-51? As in Area 51. In my universe it is just the name of the room that holds the filing cabinet instead of a whole top secret facility. But it still holds the mysterious secrets that conspiracy theorists only dream of.
