Tim is also very help full try him as well,  all i can say is when i make new characters i think of their powers first, then i get as much research on the web on the closest thing to it,then that helps me with their character bio, info etc, then i just let my imagination go!!!! i just depends on the story you want to wright

Thanks Tricks for the votes of confidence in my abilities.

I'll email you Mrosen later today and get a little more info.

I always like to create the character visually then build the story up from there. Sometimes I may have one or two scene in my head which I string together to create a story.

My only advice in creating a story line is day dream a lot. The hard part for me is names and costumes. Oh, and then there's getting the images actually done which takes software for me like Poser and Photoshop.

whats a good way to make an image look really, like, computer animated. like for a nice cover shot
Posted:  21 Jan 2009 02:59
well that depends, you mean 3d or just really good sharp render?

creating a story is difficult since the good ones are original and original ideas are hard to come by.

Try the main villain using your hero's weakness against him, then have the hero prevail in some sort of intellectual way.  those usually make the best stories.

Well bro first things first do you draw by hand or do you create digital images? Hand drwn characters take time to develop and shape them from cool pictures into people that we the reader can believe. Work up your characters and post them in the gallery these guys are really helpful. This site seems to have a real sense of community that helps fosters the creative process and makes it easier for fledgling creators to expose their work to criticism.

For 3D renderings there's Poser 7 and then there's Daz 3D. Daz is free so you might want to try it out first. Personally, I use Poser.
Posted:  21 Jan 2009 18:05
like tim say's daz3d is free, but is a little harder to work but after a while its a piece of cake, the bad thing with poser and daz3d is that you have to buy everything(clothes, hair, mats so it takes money to get a really cool looking character, all though  their are some free stuff out there! but if you have Ps that is a huge help!!!! you can make clothes over your models.but it takes patience and time to really make the image great.

Oh you mean like a new topic. Click on the subject whether it's "general" "TV" "Superman" etc and at the bottom is a place to post a topic title and the starting message.

Hope this is what you mean.

thanks a lot guys. actually, take photos and mess with them in photoshop with filters and contrast, until it looks like a drawing. and it looks pretty cool. ill put up an example soon, so yeah i was talkin 3d with my last question about a cover shot.    and i got a little further into my storyline

the main hero is "Cliff Gantly", bad ass right? haha
he works at a dumpy factory. Im not sure what its called, i called him a health inspector lol, but the health inspector comes to check out the factory, and tells "Mr. Bossman" that the factory needs to be shut down because there is a lack of fire safety. and he declares the company as a fire hazzard. Mr Bossman refuses, but later one day, Gantly gets caught up in a huge explosion. everyone is assumed to be ok, but nobody can find Gantly. (some mysterious figure rescued him, he will be named later on in the story in a flashback).  the fire messed with his dna, (idk if i like this part, feel free to comment) and he possesses the ability to control flame.
Mr. Bossman is going over the police report and finds out that if Gantly ever turns up, Gantly has the right to suit Mr Bossman for everything he's got, so its Bossman's job to make sure Gantly "never turns up".

Now i know Bossman is going to be the villian, and his power is the ability to control gravity. how do i take this further.

also, how did he get his power? thanks a lot guys

oh. and Gantly's name is

HellFire

I remeber my first comic.
"Goatee Baby".
1.You need a good fitted story line.
2.Good arts.
3.Characters must fit in with the story
4.Put characters in a decent strip.
5.Make you know, squares, cricles ect. enough to fit the characters or something like that.
6.A main character, unless random strips.
7.Make a good and decent, not sloppy.

And for help for making your character, here's a link that might help you.
http://www.ugo.com/channels/comics/heroMachine2/heromachine2.asp
There's a few directions:
1.Pick your body shape.
2. it will have a pop-up, click "complete"
3.It suffle threw alot of stuff, wait til it stops.
4.There are a "compent" and "Genre"
Compent is extra click on those for more relaistic/fanasty stuff.
Genre is what parts you wnat are your character.
5.Color: at the bottom there's a color thing, click on that for color.
6.If you a differnet thing like abes: go to compent, and go to expansion.
Any more questions, replay. (Hope it helps!) And good luck!
And also for colors, there is a 1 and a 2 on the left.
1 for the main part 2 is for the out line, click on them.
