Anybody know anything about this Twilight vampire movie they keep talking about on TV? Think it's going to be worth watching?

There's already Twilight T-shirts and Twilight posters for sale.

The majority of girls i know love the series of books.  It's, from what I've heard, on par with Harry Potter.

Its a teenage vampire romance, from what I know of it.

Look like it has a lot of action, but I have heard a lot of girls like it.

Definately a bad sign.

You know I think girls like to read books more than guys. The only thing I read is the Bible and comic books, but my wife has a book shelf full of books.

I thought it was the other way around. My dad has a room with shelves and shelves of sci-fi books that cover about three walls. I know a lot of other guys that do a lot of reading too. And none of them read Twilight.

Hmm, well my dad used to read Christian books all the time. I guess I'm just going on my wife's reading habits.
Posted:  22 Nov 2008 19:35
So did my dad. He was also what introduced me into science fiction and fantasy--as well as comic books.
Posted:  23 Nov 2008 00:52
I got into comics because my grandma threw away my aunts' collection into the garbage. I pulled them out as if I'd found a treasure and never stopped reading them. I guess I was 6 or 7 years old.

Huh reminds me of what happened to my dad when he was a kid. When he and his three brothers (all of them had a HUGE stack of comics) had moved out of their old house to a new location, they asked my grandmother where she had put all of their old comic books, she told them she had left them at the old house because she didn't think they need them anymore, because they had already read them. My dad says that if she hadn't have done that, he would still have them all.

That sucks.

My wife keeps telling me I got enough comics, but that's like saying I've watched enough TV in my life so I can stop now.
Posted:  23 Nov 2008 20:36
That's funny. I think I'm going to use that the next time someone tells me I have enough comics.

Girls Powers Twilight to $70.6 Mil Weekend

A female-dominated audience drove Twilight's opening weekend to among the biggest in Hollywood history: a $70.6 million Friday-Sunday gross, per studio estimate.

See its like what I said. A teenage romance for girls. It wasn't made for us guys. I'm going to pass on this for sure. I wouldn't feel right watching this movie.
Posted:  24 Nov 2008 00:35
The commercial looks like it has a lot of action. Bet it's not no more romantical than an episode of Smallville. I'll wait for the DVD and watch it with my wife. Then she can't say we don't ever watch chick flicks.

What you saw in the commerecial was probably just about all the action that was in the film. They only added it in there so it would appeal to male viewers, I bet.

I don't care much for vampires anyway. I like werewolves.
Posted:  24 Nov 2008 00:40
Werewolves are cool. They never make any were wolf movies anymore.
Posted:  24 Nov 2008 00:42
I thought I heard somewhere that they were doing a remake of the Wolfman.
Posted:  24 Nov 2008 15:28
That sounds familiar. I might have even posted that somewhere, but I can't remember. I guess my brain is running out of memory space.
Posted:  25 Nov 2008 00:03
I saw a new werewolf movie the other day. It had Kevin Sorbo in it.
Posted:  25 Nov 2008 00:33
Was it on TV or DVD?
Posted:  25 Nov 2008 01:02
It was on Tv. It was called Never Cry Werewolf.
Posted:  25 Nov 2008 01:20
What network was it on?
Posted:  25 Nov 2008 02:21
Sci-fi. Might come on again.
Posted:  25 Nov 2008 15:09
Dang, that sounds like it might have been cool to watch too. Oh well I guess I can't watch everything on TV. The last thing I watched with Kevin Sorbo was a western he did for the hallmark channel. It was pretty good.

I just did a quick search it doesn't come on again till January 10th. Apparently its also on DVD I saw it today at Deep Discount for about ten bucks.

tim, excellent analogy with the too much tv thing.  and guys, if you would like to maintain your title of hetero, i'm gonna say abort abort abort any thoughts of seeing twilight.  my mom and sister love it but from what the've said it's just a girls book in every right.  no attempt is made to please any audience other than girls looking for mush mush mush, "but there's vampires" they'll tell you, well if vampires were really that girly, they'd be fruit bats for sure.
i'm sickened at the obsession with this girl-aimed story when the film (judging by the trailer and what i've heard) is incredibly and unesscesarily low budget and lame.
"i know...what...YOU ARE...your hand...IS COLD!"  jeez, why didn't they just cast shatner into the lead role.

Cause Shatner's too good for one of them lovey-dovey films.

I'm kind of tired of hearing about how great this movie is. You know the only people I know of that like this film are girls.

I'll rent it, but I won't go to the theaters and shell out big bucks.
