Big Shakeup Behind the Heroes Scenes

November 2, 2008

Variety says there was a big shakeup behind the scenes of NBC's "Heroes" on Sunday as writers/co-executive producers Jesse Alexander and Jeph Loeb were fired.

The duo had been with the show since its first season and were known to have led the day-to-day production operation under the direction of creator/executive producer Tim Kring.

"Heroes," produced by Universal Media Studios, has struggled in the ratings its third season. It's understood that Alexander and Loeb were let go because of NBC executives' frustration with the creative direction of the show.

The trade added that the show is also said to have been dealing with hefty budget overruns this season that are going well beyond its already sizable $4 million per-episode pricetag.

I can't believe people aren't watching Heroes as much as the first season. This show is awesome!

i don't know, i've been recording them but haven't gotten around to watching the last 3 or so.  it just seems too dark, with too many flashforwards/ flashbacks, and not enough of the characters mingling together plot-wise.  almost eveyone's evil now.
however, i don't think getting rid of these guys is the answer, maybe bringing in more guys, or jyust simplifying/lightening the plot a little.  it's rough having to watch 20 episodes to get one plot line.

It would be neat to focus on an individual hero and one story line per show. The stuff hiro could get into alone could make a TV series.

i agree, they have too much going on when a number of the charactes could have their own show.

Maybe they should make Hiro the focus for a while and have Hiro use the other heroes to save the day.
