It always cracks me up when movies have some Japanese dudes yelling godzilla whenever there's a big monster around.

I wish this was in better shape. I loved the godzilla cartoon theme as a kid.

The Kinks- King Kong (sorry, couldn't find a better video)
I love this song!

You know I got to thinking the Kinks is actually very appropiate here, especially on this site. Even though the King Kong song is relevant, the Kinks have made a couple of other superhero songs that make them the perfect band to post on this site.

I'm surprised somebody didn't take that song and add king kong clips.
What other songs did the kinks sing that involve superheroes?

Catch Me Now I'm Falling
He says "Captain America" a lot in that song.

It's amazing how many times superhero names show up in songs.

Another Kinks superhero song:
Wish I Could Fly Like Superman
Its a fan made video, and its pretty lame, but its the only one I could find that contained the whole song. Plus this one, the studio version, is so much better than the live version of it.
Both this one and that Catch Me Now I'm Falling I have on cd. I think they both rock. But this is my favorite of the two. They really jam in this song.
The Kinks had one other song possibly related to superheroes, called "Powerman". But I'm not really sure if that would fit here; I don't think they're refering to any superhero in specific.

I found another Halloween song. "Apeman". I guess this kinda falls under the Halloween category. Turn up your volume for this one. Its very low. This time its not a fan made video. This video is actually very entertaining. I enjoyed it. They made it good and interesting without making it too weird, which too many rock bands tend to do.
Would ya believe it? The Kinks again!

I'm going to have that Superman song stuck in my head all day long. It's just one of those catchy kind of songs.

Well its a good song to have stuck in your head. Its one of my favorites. And in my opinion, its their best song. Its kind of surprising that it was never a hit. Kind of funny too. I like the line, "I wish I could fly but I can't even swim!"
Hey just a thought: Maybe we should start a new thread on superhero songs...?
