This one teams up heroes Midnight and Ghost Ninja now simply called Ghost. This is my "mature" title similiar to the Marvel Knights series, there's nothing too graphic but just want to cover myself by saying it would probably be rated PG-13 if it were a movie.

John Dark and Alicia Martin sit in a dark booth of a small bar in Hong Kong having drinks and chatting together “oh John” Alicia chides “how can you have such a grim outlook on life?”
“Just look at our past, both us have lost people we cared about” he countered “doesn’t it seem that the villains gain more ground every day? I just don’t think the world will survive much longer even with the protection of heroes.”
“Are you saying we should just give up?” Alicia asks a little heatedly “if we do that then the people we lost died for nothing. I for one will not let their deaths be in vain.”
“Easy there, I didn’t say we should quit. Only that we should accept the fact that eventually we will lose and the world will fall to the hands of villains.”
Their conversation soon turned to other things as the alcohol began affecting their bodies and the two ended up entwined together in a hotel room just down the street. They lay there; naked bodies pressed close together underneath the sheets and enjoyed the simple touch of each other. John’s eyes wandered up to the ceiling as he seemed lost in thought.
“What’s wrong John?”
“Nothing Alicia, nothing at all, I was just thinking.”
“About?” she pressed.
He turned his gaze upon her and smiled slyly “if we stay partners do we get these benefits every night?”
Alicia took her pillow and playfully smacked him in the head “you are so bad” she laughed.
The two of them wrestled around on the bed for a few moments before she finally got up and walked seductively towards the bathroom smiling as John’s eyes stayed fixed upon her backside. Then he too got up from the bed and slipped into his black ninja uniform, ninja mask, gray boots and gloves.
In the short time that they had been together Midnight learned to tap into his inner chi allowing him to see perfectly in the dark without the need for his old mask. He also learned to use this power to summon ninja speed and agility as well as teleport short distances. During his travels he learned to use a new weapon, bladed tonfas, and has since forgone his armored gauntlets.
“Where are you headed” she asked returning from the bathroom now wearing a thin silk robe?
“I just want to scout the city a little bit. You know try and find a way to practice my newfound abilities.”
Alicia went to her suitcase and pulled out her own light pink kunoichi headband, kunoichi tights, and matching boots “I’ll come with you.”
He gave her a quick grin for it felt good to have a partner again. Then he leapt out the window into a dive that took him down ten stories before he grabbed hold of a lamp post at street level and dropped silently to the ground.
Ghost followed close behind using her new levitation ability to float gently down to the ground. Once there the two of them continued on down the street listening for any signs of trouble. Midnight summoning his ninja speed and agility ran up the side of a nearby building and leapt onto the roof.
The clouds covered the moon and placed the city into complete darkness. John looked inside himself and reached his inner chi summoning his night-vision. He scanned the horizon as Ghost floated up beside him. Then a loud scream pierced the air from across the street.
Ghost became invisible at once and using her ninja agility leapt from the rooftop to land on the one across the street. The cry was coming from inside the building so she quickly phased through the roof to get inside. Midnight followed her to the other roof then took the fire escape down to an opened window.
Once inside the building it was a matter of mere moments before they found the source of the disturbance. A hooker was having her face beaten in by her pimp. She was groveling on the floor throwing her hands in front of her face for protection.
“Shut up you %#$@ do you want someone to call the cops?”
“I’m sorry” she cried “it wasn’t my fault, he refused to pay me.”
“Maybe you should have done a better job pleasing him then” the pimp said as he smacked her again.
A shadow crossed the floor and engulfed the man. When he turned to look he found himself staring into the glowing green eyes of Midnight!
“You shouldn’t have hit her you piece of $#@!” Midnight said slamming his fist into the pimp’s face.
The man went for his gun but Ghost was there to twist his arm and force him to drop it on the floor. Then she became visible and the startled pimp bolted towards the elevator. Midnight chased after him while Ghost helped the poor woman to her feet.
“Are you alright” Alicia asked brushing the woman’s disheveled hair from her face?
“For now, but when he comes back it will be ten times worse. You should have just left me alone. Now he will beat me harder for your interference.”
“I don’t think he will” Alicia gave a grim smile “not if my partner has anything to do with it.”
Midnight caught up with the pimp around the corner and out of sight of the two women. He threw one of his tonfas causing the blade to slice the back of the man’s leg causing him to fall. Then John jumped on top of him and slashed him across the face with the other tonfa. He just kept hammering his fist into the pimps face until he was no longer recognizable.
“If I ever catch you in this part of town again you will die” Midnight warned as he retrieved his other tonfa and turned to head back down the hall.
The pimp pulled and knife as he got to his feet. Then he rushed towards Midnight ready to stab him in the back. The vigilante heard him and used his agility to dodge the attack and come back with a roundhouse kick which hit the man hard. The man flew backwards and out a window. He crashed to the street below where he lay broken.
