Hi, to everybody using superherouniverse.com my name is Richard Ian Bird i'm the writer and creator of Home-Made Heroes, an online self publishing comicbook story site. my main aim is to try and get my online comicbook site noticed, i'm trying to get people to go to the site read my stories and get back to me, as well as telling their freinds and getting them to visit it also, the site is www.homemadeheroes.co.uk i've spend the last few years writing the stories and designing the characters, ive had a company build me the web site and now the first six chapters are online, but as with all small publishers/creators it's getting noticed in such a big wide area i did send filers out to all the uk based comic shops but got no response through the website so either people didn't look or just throw the filers away, yes i no the art isn't fantastic (you'll know what i'm saying if you take a look!) but i'am more intreasted in the writing side of things than art i always have a cinematic idea of what i want things to look like but sometimes the pen and hand suff doesn't always come out as you wish it.
I've been collecting comics for years (too many to mention) and worked at the London Based Comic shop Krypton Komics when it was based in Tottenham, since the launch of www.homemadeheroes.co.uk i have been a regular blogger on the comics international website, paninicomics.co.uk and myspace.
i'm a member of www.comicspace.com/richardianbird and have had an interview published on www.comicbrew.com but i'm still trying to get more and more people to view the site and who knows get my name noticed by the powers that be at some comicbook publishers.
Home-Made Heroes will be a twelve issue/chapter story (series 1) following the adventures of Captain James Cody, an out of date superhero who's thoughts and ideas are still stuck in the past and who learns that the modern world around him is a much darker place to live in than it once was.
I hope that i have sparked an interest and that you will vist me at www.homemadeheroes.co.uk and let me know your thoughts and questions about me and the stories i have published so far.
