Somewhere in the Terraverse...

Daimyo looked at his own rift band recharge timer and screamed "the cyborg should have had three more hours before he could make the jump what happened?"

Dragoon shrugged his metallic shoulders "maybe he recharged it somehow before we got here?"

"That's not possible! There is no energy source on this world sufficient enough to charge the rift band."

Ashigaru emerged severely damage but victorious over the terrasaur. She managed to cut it's legs off with her pulse blade. She was dragging a wounded metahound behind her. Dragoon was checking his pulse rifle and placing it in safe mode as he reloaded the pulse cartridge. Chimera was flying around in circles over head keeping watch for any other rock creatures that might stray too close to them.

"We have to keep following the cyborg. We cannot return to the Technoverse without him or the Golem-Lord will have our heads."

"He is severely wounded we will catch him next time" Ashigaru said with confidence.

"Wounded is not the same thing as dead! Someone explain to me how he jumped early!"

"Sir, maybe it was my fault" Dragoon offered "I struck him in the chest with a pulse bolt, the energy from the blast might have been absorbed by the rift band charging it early."

"So you are telling me it is your fault that we now have ten hours before we can catch him? I should turn you into a scrap pile and leave you here!"

"Squabbling is not helping us" Ashigaru interrupted "myself and the metahound are damaged, we need repairs before we confront the cyborg again."

"There is no way we can repair you without sending you back to our own universe. You will just have to manage the best you can. If you fail then you will stay where you drop" Daimyo was frustrated and stormed off from the others.

He knew they could not return without the cyborg. They would have to make do with whatever technology awaited them in the next dimension. Maybe something there can be used to repair them. If not then maybe he can use them as spare parts for Dragoon or Chimera. Or possibly turn them into a weapon he can use to destroy the cyborg?

Meanwhile...

"Now where am I?"

The cyborg looked at his surroundings in awe. He was in a dense forest with tall thick trees the likes of which he had never seen before. He could hear animals scurrying unseen on the forest floor and hear birds chirping up in the trees. He wondered if there were any intelligent life forms here? His loneliness was trying to turn into despair at his situation. How he wished he could return home to Carrol.

Why had he just thought of a woman named Carrol? More fragmented memories invading his thoughts. He tried to remember this woman. Was she a relative? His wife perhaps? A lover? He didn't know. All he could remember was she was important to him. Maybe she was another fighter? Who was he fighting for? All he knew were they were other humans like he used to be. They were fighting against...the Golem-Lord! That had to be it. He must have been captured by the enemy. And experimented on like some kind of lab rat. So what could he do now? He could not run forever. He had to find away to fight back!

Just then he heard a chattering noise in the tree above him. He looked up and saw a hairy humanoid monkey man. The monkey man was chattering and pointing at him. Then it motioned for him to follow it deeper into the forest. He leapt up into the trees using his cybernetic legs to push off the ground hard. Landing on a giant limb he followed the creature as it swung through the trees. He jumped from limb to limb following as closely as he could while dodging branches and other trees.

They came to a clearing and he saw a whole village of the creatures living in huts made from fallen branches and vines. As he got a closer look they resembled gorillas more than monkeys for they were large and had no tails. The one he was following motioned for him to enter the largest of the huts. He went in cautiously watching and listening for any hint of danger. As he entered the hut he came face to face with an older gorilla-man wearing a strange feathered headdress who appeared to be in charge.

The elderly gorilla began speaking in their strange language. The cyborg was about to shrug his misunderstanding when the cybernetic part of his brain translated the language into his own.

"I am Chief Azaroth of the great Silverback Tribe, my scout Oktu tells me you appeared out of thin air just as the prophecy foretold. You will be bathed and given the ceremonial robes prior to being introduced to the rest of the tribe."

Before the cyborg could reply the chieftain motioned for Oktu to take him away. They walked over to a bathhouse where three female Silverbacks were ready to attend him. He tried to ask Oktu questions as his brain translated his own language to that of the tribal people but the scout only pointed him to the bathing pool. Not knowing what else to do he complied, glad to know that his cybernetics were waterproof though unsure why he knew that.

The gorilla women bathed him with a strange smelling soap and splashed him with incense before wrapping him in a phoenix down robe. Chief Azaroth arrived and ordered him to follow. The two walked out into the middle of the village where the rest of the tribe were waiting patiently. There was a small stage about five feet by five feet set up with three steps leading to it. The chieftain climbed onto the stage and the cyborg followed in his wake.

"The gods have smiled upon us this day for the prophecy has come to pass. The great warrior of old has returned!" as Azaroth spoke the crowd cheered "he arrived out of thin air just as we were first told by the shaman Gorktu in the first age."

Just then another Silverback carrying a large staff appeared on stage to the cyborg's right and began speaking "this is true. My ancestor Gorktu did foretell his coming. He passed it down through generations that this warrior would have a strange appearance, that he would appear made of some unnatural material" at this point the shaman pointed at the cyborg's metallic parts "I Kargoth concur that this is the warrior of old!"

"What have I stumbled in to" the cyborg asked himself?

He surveyed the crowd and pondered his situation. They thought him a great warrior sent by the gods. But for what purpose? To save them from some threat possibly. But these Silverbacks seemed strong enough to defend themselves from anything here in the forest. So what could they possibly be defenseless against? And could he alone stand up to it?

Elsewhere...

"Have you received word from Daimyo?"

"No my liege" the golem communications officer answered bowing before the Golem-Lord.

"He better not have failed me! You are dismissed cretin."

After the golem left another form stepped out from the shadows. A thin golem with insect limbs and a belt full of daggers at its waist. The golem slide up to the Golem-Lord's side careful to keep his raspy voice at a whisper for fear of eavesdroppers.

"My lord shall I follow them?"

"Yes Vestige, track down Daimyo and if he has failed kill him!"

"And what of the cyborg?"

"He is to be destroyed, his head brought back to me" the Golem-Lord said with a snarl "and make sure the other golems are destroyed as well. They are easily replaced."

"Yes my lord" Vestige bowed and slinked back into the shadows.

This assassin golem was better made than the majority of the golems. His body was made of denser material allowing him to take more damage. His leg stabilizers were also equipped to make him more agile than the norm. He had perfect night-vision and the skills of a silent killer. The Golem-Lord even gave him the rift band v3 which could be recharged in a matter of minutes by connecting it to his internal power source. Vestige activated his coordinate projector and found Daimyo was in the Terraverse, he altered it to track the cyborg as well and smiled when he discovered where he was. The cyborg might be destroyed by the denizens of the Lumberverse before Daimyo could even reach him.

Prophecy to be concluded next issue...

You got like your own universe thing going on. Is this like a universe completely on it's own like Star Wars or Masters of the Universe, or is it in our reality somewhere?

I want to say our reality though I haven't given it that much thought yet. It is kind of like the Marvel or DC multiverse thing. This way if I needed the cyborg to hope into our reality with my various superhero characters running around I can or if by some chance he would pop into your universe and bump into Time-Rider "with your permission of course". So yeah eventually I probably will bring him to Earth.

The next issue # 4 "Prophecy Fulfilled" will have a little more action in it as well.
