I don't want to offend anyone by this story so be forewarned that this has a basis in religion. This will lead to the forming of my super hero team but for now follows Kalais the Archangel's origin. It has to do with a man whose life is basically over and receives a vision from God telling him he has to save the world.

Gabriel Michaels wakes up in a pew just like he has for the last seven years. Disheveled and smelling of urine his life a complete waste. He remembers for the briefest moment what his life used to be like. It had meaning, he had a purpose. He went to work every day; he was a husband and a father. But then the cancer came and took his son. After that he started drinking and doing drugs, his wife fell into depression and stayed there until the day she finally killed herself.

Gabriel finally lost his job and got evicted after he stopped showing up for work and spent all his money to get high. Now here he is sleeping in churches on nights when the weather is bad. If only god would give him a purpose maybe he could pull it together again.

As he rubbed his eyes and sat up something unexpected happened. A bright light penetrated the cathedral and a man with wings floated down a beam of light. This man held out a sheathed sword and motioned for Gabriel to take it.

The first thing that came to Gabriel’s mind was “man these hallucinations are getting weirder and weirder” but then he remembered he was clean, at least he is this week due to lack of funds. Realization finally sunk in, this was no dream it was a vision from god! This man with the sword is an angel.

The angel chose that moment to speak “I am the archangel Michael and God has chosen you. Take up this sword called Chrysaor and swear an oath before me that you will serve God!”

“Of course, I will serve” Gabriel screams as he reaches for the sword.

“Then listen carefully Gabriel, for time grows short. You must seek out others to help you in this task. They must be powerful and a force for good. Two of the most powerful Demon-lords are loose on Earth and you must stop them. One has resurrected a long dead knight and now inhabits his body. The other has not revealed himself yet but his presence is felt even in Heaven. He is by far the more dangerous of the two. Be careful who you choose to ally yourself with and most importantly do not succumb to the Demon’s false promises.”

With that the archangel vanishes and the church returns to normal except for the blade now in Gabriel’s hands. Careful not to let others see the sword he wraps it in his ragged jacket and tucks it under his arm as he leaves the church.

I wouldn't worry about offending anyone based on religious content. Nobody ever complains about Raiders of the Lost Ark or the Last Crusade.

I'm Catholic so it wouldn't offend me, actually for the Mannino Infantry I am an Archangel who is a General in God's Marine Corps.

*sighs*  Mannino if you're going to say something at least make sure you say it right.  There are plenty of Archangels right?  Only one of them is God's General, Michael.  I'm not even Catholic and I know that.

Say anybody know any other angels besides gabriel and Michael, oh not counting fallen angels like the devil?

Speaking of angels anybody watch The Fallen mini series on the ABC Family channel a while back? Pretty cool fight scenes. They had these flaming swords and the angels were doing kung fu.

Do you think that I don't know that Lectrohm, I've known that for years, it doesn't have to be all real, I'm an Archangel General along with Saint Michael the Archangel, I get assigned by God to help the humans fight the demons, so I go to Earth and join the Space Troopers Marine Corps, once I become a General in the Space Troopers Marine Corps I then combine the Space Troopers Marine Corps with the Archangels and create the Mannino Infantry.

I'm talking about actual biblical text--not your nonexistent story.

cool, it says there is only two angels listed by name in the Bible. I didn't realize that. I know angels pop up a lot in the Bible, but didn't realize only two were named like that.
