Razor

From an early age only child Alex Alexander seemed to have a knack for exceptional balance and accuracy. He could walk by 6 months and stack blocks to shoulder height at a time when other babies simply chew on them. He could skate and bike (without training wheels) by his third year. By age 10 he could routinely hit the mark at the county fair shooting range and win the biggest prize no matter how off the sit was set. The point of turn came one summer afternoon when his dad witnessed Alex make 700 consecutive baskets from beyond the half-court line at a recreational park. Alex’s family was extremely religious and they saw this as a gift from God. With that gift though came responsibility. Alex’s parents decided that, even though he was blessed with extraordinary abilities, it would be unfair to use his talents to put himself above others. As such, despite being an exceptional natural athlete, Alex was not permitted to participate in high school sports. As a compromise his parents did allow him pursue a passion for the martial arts and to certain extent gymnastics. He easily excelled in both as this was his only real means by which to focus his latent abilities without clearly dominating others in an unfair manner. Martial arts weapons came around age 16, and in private he honed his skill to the point of near perfect accuracy, even mastering in time complex angled ricochet shots that always hit the mark. As a teen he recognized that his accuracy had much to do with an odd understanding for geometry. He excelled in this mathematics in general and eventually went to college for a math degree. At age 20 though his world changed. Word came that both parents were killed in a relatively routine car accident. After being an only child all those years, Alex was no truly alone in the world. He began to question God; how could He have taken his parents? Perhaps he thought all those years or religious upbringing were all a lie if two such good servants of the Lord could be taken for no obvious reason. Alex quits college, and starts to dabble in drugs and alcohol. Finances became an issue as his parents were barely middle-class and what little there was in their estate was quickly gone by rebellious partying. To make ends meet, Alex took his natural born gifts to the pool hall. From town-to-town he went hustling pool games from locals then leaving in the middle of the night before his skills garnered too much attention. By age 24 though Alex felt burned out by his nomadic lifestyle. He also softens his initial anger at God and came to peace with his parent’s death. This led him to then reevaluate his gifts. He concluded his parents would be ashamed of how he’d used his gifts the last several years. Drugs and booze were jettisoned in favor of a return to a more consistent and rigid exercise and martial arts regime. He soon realized that his natural gifts or above average strength, ability, and accuracy could be used for the greater good of others as a repayment for years of abusing the very same gifts. Taking a cue well known heroes like Captain Freedom and the Spy, Alex took the leap into the world of capes and tights. A chance encounter with the Professor [Charles Xavier] verified his own suspicions that he was in fact a mutant. These mutant powers to blossom the more he used them and in short time found his strength that of a power lifter, ability on par with an Olympic gymnast, and accuracy that rivals Red Archer [Hawkeye]. As Razor, Alex Alexander began his on-going quest of redemption and helping those in need. By moving to New York he has daily opportunities to please his parents.

I like the origin story. Your character actually seems feasible in the real world. Who is to say a person might not be born with greater strength, accuracy, and agility to the point they could be classified a mutant in the real world.
